Michigan Friday: Business Trip

The Wolverines landed in Florida on Thursday as they will take on Alabama again on Tuesday afternoon.  No, it's not the Rose Bowl or even the college playoffs, it's the ReliaQuest Bowl or the former Outback Bowl.  You know already know that I think Bowl Games are glorified scrimmages, but more football is better than less football.

Another Wolverine on Thursday made a business decision and that was big Kenny Grant.  Not highly rated coming out of high school, Kenny with defensive line neighbor Mason "were gifts from the football gods".  Harbaugh saw it early and the nation saw it quickly after.

There were small rumors that Kenny might be thinking about coming back for one more year but when the 1st round comes calling, you have to answer that call!   Best of luck Kenny and thank you for coming to Ann Arbor and helping win a National Championship!

  • I turned on the bad NFL game, how did Rutgers lose that game?
  • You also know what I think about Wink, but he did come through against Ohio State, so I don't want to run him out of town.  If he did leave for the NFL, I had one candidate in mind ,former Purdue head coach Ryan Walters who was a great DC at Illinois.    Jedd is a smart man and he will be hiring Ryan at UW.
  • Wisconsin QB Braedyn Locke is transferring to Arizona
  • Michigan Freshman QB Jaydn Davis does not plan on transferring with the arrival of Bryce Underwood.
  • UNLV Portal CB Tony Grimes is looking to schedule a visit to Ann Arbor
  • Arizona Portal CB Emmanuel Karnley is heading to Miami

If Davis is staying then play him in the effing bowl game. Actually surprised that Grant took this long to declare. I think its a no brainer, he's a 1st round talent. Maybe not top 10, but he'll go in the 1st round. He, Graham, and WJ will be 1st round picks and Stewart will likely be a day 2 pick!

I dont care what these kids say, its what they do, and Davis has barely stepped foot onto the field. There's no sense Davis even being on the team if he isn't going to play. Is he afraid of getting hurt? Doesn't know the playbook yet? Maybe he likes taking walks with his girlfriend at the cider mill on Saturday afternoons. Whatever it is, it's time to shit or get off the pot.

College football needs to learn a thing or two from the NFL and do a better job with scheduling. There is never a dull moment in the NFL, whether it's a Thursday night game, stupid game in London, combine, Draft, it's always SOMETHING. Now back to the good ole NCAA where some playoff teams haven't played a game since November 30th. Buzzkill.

What other sport do you get a month off?

CB Rick Grimes, I mean Tony Grimes, would be a nice addition to UM secondary. He has 4 years of experience with Miami and UNLV and is a former 5 star. Unfortunately, he has at least 6 other schools recruiting him. This will probably come down to how much $$ Michigan has left in their budget.

IMHO, we need to keep filling up our cart w quality players. No sense buying the beef tenderloin if you don't have the salad and mashed potatoes to go with it.

Look I know true freshmen can struggle, especially at QB. It's why I won't be surprised if Bryce Underwood scuffles. But by this time of the year, he should of had enough practice time to show some level of acumen to the offense.

Brady, personally I don't need Thursday night football. I think the short weeks contribute to the amount of injuries. I don't think they needed to add a 17th game but now that's going to be the precursor for an 18th game as the home/away game totals are out of balance. These guys are men not machines and the greedy owners care more about the bottom line then anything else.

I think the games in London, Frankford, Brazil, and Mexico are stupid. I've heard NFL reps are at those sites handing out NFL player jerseys cause the fans don't know an effing thing about American football. There's nothing wrong with the NFL just being an American thing, but once again, greedy owners want a bigger piece of the pie. Being a billionaire ain't enough!

Yep. Bad vibes from this kid. I hope I'm wrong, though.

BREAKING NEWS- Alex Orji will suit up and play for Michigan in the Bowl Game vs Alabama. I don't know what to make of this. Would J.J. like to take a few snaps as well?
