Wolverine Wednesday: My Mistake

When Michigan was struggling to recruit top tier players early in the 2025 recruiting cycle.  I made a statement that Michigan was done getting 5-stars as they are not going to pay for players to come to Ann Arbor.  They would have to develop 3 and 4 star players to play like 5 stars.

Those are famous last words now as Michigan landed the #1 player in the country QB Bryce Underwood and changed the way they handled NIL to be competitive with Ohio State and other programs.

The latest news is Rivals has made Michigan commit DE Nate Marshall a 5 star.

So by my count the current class has the following:

5-Stars
  1. Bryce Underwood
  2. Andrew Babalola
  3. Nate Marshall (Rivals only)
  4. N O-B was a 5 -star on Rivals before he got moved to a 4
  5. Current recruit Ty Haywood is a 5-Star OT

Clearly I was wrong and happy to be it.  Love that Michigan has fixed its NIL program and now can compete for the best talent in the country.

  • Ronnie Bell has signed a futures contract with the Lions, which means that will keep him out of the USFL.  Good Move Lions!
  • Ben Johnson gets $13M a year from the Bears.
  • Michigan ends the year beating Ohio State and Alabama but still can't crack the final AP 25.
  • Former UNC and Arkansas QB Jacob Criswell is also transferring to ETSU and will compete with Cade for the starting QB spot.
  • Peppers trail has been delayed due to a water main break.  Peppers faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class B substance, which is believed to be cocaine.
