Cell Block News and Notes: Recuiting Update

  • LA receiver planning a Michigan visit. If he comes to Michigan, his nick name has to be The M Shaq! (ok, I will work on it) Shaquelle Evans 6-foot-2, 200-plus pound receiver, is planning trips to LSU, Michigan, Ohio St. and Tennessee.
  • The recruiting machine known in these parts as "The Vest" picks up another Michigan HS commitment. Tight end Reid Fragel, 6 feet 8, 258 pounds, of Grosse Pointe, Mich., said he has picked the Buckeyes over MSU. Michigan wanted Reid to play Tackle and he wanted to catch the football. The word is, being a great Tackle at Michigan won't get you drafted by the NFL. Wait a second, maybe Reid had that backwards.
  • PSU picks up commitments number 9 and 10. One of those commits was Sean Stanley a DE prospect that Michigan was interested in.
  • Brandon McGee is not close to a decision but by looking at his gear, it looks like OSU is in the lead.
  • Aaron Shea calls it a career.
  • Black Shoe Diaries is calling out the Wolverines early. In the top 5 games he would like to attend he has this to say about Michigan at #2:
Michigan - The streak is going to end this year and in a big way. This game should be a blowout in our favor, and Michigan fans will sound like Charlie Weis telling us to laugh now.
  • ND LB Aaron Nagel (a 4.0 student) decides to transfer to another school not on ND's schedule:
Weis’ policy is not to release players to schools that appear on ND’s upcoming schedules. So that will rule out Purdue, Michigan State and Stanford -- three schools that would have interested Aaron, according to Ron.
