Michigan Morning Recruiting Update

  • Tom VH from Mgoblog caught up with Rashad Knight after his visit to Michigan this weekend: An interesting note on his visit: Knight had concerns going into the visit about Rich Rod's job security, and he told me they were more than answered. He feels comfortable now with the coaching staff. He also felt the visit went much better then expected and could see himself in the Maize and Blue. Rashad has visits set with Rutgers and Ole' Miss the last two weeks of the recruiting season.

  • I know there are a number of Michigan fans that are still holding out hope for Dillon Baxter in this class. The reports on Dillon is that he is still favoring USC and most likely will end up there. Coach Rod is trying to get an in home visit but the chances are very slim he ends up in Ann Arbor. Florida and Oregon right now have a better chance to stealing him away from SC.

  • Mark Snyder a candidate for the Michigan LB job landed the DC job at South Florida.

  • Demar Dorsey, a University of Florida commit enjoyed his visit to Ann Arbor this weekend and plans to consider Michigan in his final schools. He is also planning to visit Florida State next weekend. Some insiders have said, that the lose of Vance Bedford and Charlie Strong from Florida has opened the doors to other schools. When it's said and done I expect Demar to stay with Florida or maybe go to FSU.

To summarize, Michigan is looking good for two more safeties in this class: Sean Parker from California and Rashad Knight, from Florida. The risk here is both are signing day announcements and Michigan could go 2-0, 0-2, or 1-1. Let's hope both of these gentlemen tell Rich Rod and staff what they are planning to do before signing day.
