Michigan Friday: The Detroit Duo Goes 0-2 in the NBA Draft

Sometimes kids make decisions to transfer or leave early for the professional draft and it works out for the best.  An example of that is Ekpe Udoh who was a role player at Michigan and after transferring to Baylor was the #6 draft pick in the NBA draft last night.

For the past two weeks we were hearing that Manny Harris was rising up teams draft boards.   Some analysts were even talking he might be an early second round draft pick.  Well, that didn't happen for Manny on Thursday and he went un-drafted.   Now it looks like his options are to land on a summer league team or head to Europe.  I think staying for his senior year would have been the right choice.

At the start of the year many people were comparing the games of Evan Turner from OSU and Manny from Michigan.  Evan went #2 in the draft last night.   Comparison over.

DeShawn Sims signed with Celtics and Raymar Morgan from MSU with the Wizards.  Both are signed to summer contracts.

  • MDen Back at the Big House!  Sure the MDen was at the Big House Blog now they are back as the official University of Michigan retailer after losing the contract over a year ago.  Congrats to David Brandon for making the decision to give back the contract to a local Ann Arbor company.  Congratulations to the MDEN!  To celebrate, hit the link on the right hand side and buy yourself a new Michigan hat or jersey!

  • TomVH from Mgoblog gives us his weekly recruiting update.  The highlights are Michigan might have found a 2011 QB in Florida's Kevin Sousa who will be visiting next week and it seems the Wolverines are losing ground in Andre Y's recruitment after his visit to NikeTown  Oregon.
