Michigan Tuesday: Recruiting Quick Bites

Michigan currently has 8 spots filled for the 2011 recruiting class and most expect just 10 more spots to be open in this class max.  So who is left and what are their time tables to decide?

  • Dee Hart is expected back to Ann Arbor for his official visit for the UConn game.  Some expect that a decision may come right after this game.

  • Anthony Zettel is still taking visits and it looks like will make a decision during the football season.   Many insiders believe Michigan is still in the leader position for AZ.

  • Detroit Linebacker Ed Davis said he will announce his decision the day before his first football game this year.  The date is August 27th and it seems its between Michigan, Iowa, and MSU.

  • Michigan running back Justice Hayes had somewhat of a surprise visit this past weekend to Ann Arbor.  He spent a lot of time with running backs coach Fred Jackson.  The rumor mill has Justice top two as Notre Dame and Michigan.  Did the visit to Ann Arbor this weekend put Michigan in the #1 spot? I guess we will see.

  • Michigan WR DeAnthony Arnett is now favoring the USC Trojans.

  • Tony Posada an offensive lineman from Tampa is most likely announcing soon.  Florida hasn't offered yet but if they do he might be a Gator.  If he doesn't get that offer most believe he will be a Wolverine.

  • Kellen Jones a MLB from Texas will be visiting the Wolverines a week from Thursday (7/29).  Kellen is a Michigan fan and could commit if he has a good visit.

  • Chris Bryant (OL from Chicago), Darian Cooper (DT from Maryland), and Johnathan Aiken (CB from Florida) are all planning Michigan visits in the next couple of months.
Obviously, there are more recruits on Michigan's board then the ones listed above but the main thing to consider is that Michigan's class is filling up and if recruits love the Maize and Blue they better consider jumping on board sooner rather then later.
  • The Big Ten Kickoff Meeting will be held in Chicago on August 3rd and Stephen Schilling, Mark Moundros and Troy Woolfolk will be representing the Wolverines.

  • Michigan currently has 50/1 odds to win the National Championship this year.  12/1 for a Big Ten Championship.  I have also heard that Michigan will be favored by 3 points for the UConn game.
