Michigan Monday: Wants a New Banner!

The Michigan Basketball program has been taking more banners down then they have been putting up lately.   That trend is over as Michigan put away Penn State yesterday afternoon and Ohio State beat Michigan State to create a 3 way tie for the regular season Big Ten Title.   That's a new banner folks in the new Crisler Arena Center.  Another bad Michigan trend is dead and Michigan basketball is back!

Congratulations to Zack Novak and Stu Douglass they leave Ann Arbor with a brand new championship ring.   Also a special thank you to John Beilein that was on the hot seat last year as Michigan was struggling mid-year.  That team turned it around and won an NCAA Tournament game.   Then John went out and found Tre Burke and today they are Big Ten Champions (first time since 1986) .    Well done guys!

  • Numbers game:  Michigan wanted 5 offensive lineman and they took 5.  They are now telling recruits they are full.  The next position that has a number of prospects interested is LB.   Many recruiting insiders felt the Wolverines would take 3 LB's in this class.   We are now hearing that number is down to 2.   Ben Gedeon visited Ann Arbor yesterday and Mike McCray will be in town on Tuesday with an announcement scheduled for Thursday.  Both players are from Ohio and 4 star prospects.   We all know the Michigan coaches like to get their commitments in pairs.  Will this week be another good week for recruiting?  Let's hope so!
