Michigan Thursday: Preps for a Big Weekend

How would some big name recruits committing to the football team and Michigan's Basketball team winning the Big Ten Tournament sound for a good weekend?  I would take it.

Michigan wining the BIG Tournament would be a bit of a surprise.  They could play Northwestern in the second round.   The Wildcats have given Michigan a lot of problems this year.  A strange side note, Michigan has never met MSU in the Big Ten Tournament.

Recruiting Updates

  • Alex Anzalone and Shane Jones are LB prospects that were expected to be in Ann Arbor this weekend for a visit.   Both were told that Michigan is full at LB.   Interesting....................

  • On Commit Watch:  LB Ben Gedeon who visited last weekend (see above) and CB Gareon Conley who is a 4 star/top 300 guy to Scouts. He is a tall CB/DB at 6'2 but could use some weight at 170.   Gareon will be visiting with his parents.

  • CB Devin Butler is planning a visit to Ann Arbor later this month.  He is from DC and a 3 star CB to Scouts.  He has a ton of offers for a 3 star guy:  Wisconsin, ND, WVU, PSU, NC State, NC, MSU, Nebraska and about 20 total offers.  He is not rated by Rivals.

  • 2013 Texas wideout Eldridge Massington who is 6'3 225 just got a Michigan offer.  He is a 4 star prospect to both Rivals and Scouts.

  • In NBA news: Darius Morris was sent down to the D-league.   Which could be good news or bad news.  The D league will give him a shot at much more playing time but he couldn't crack the lineup of the Lakers that has a clear need at the point.
