ESPN is a little late to the party in getting out their top 150 players list. Rivals and Scouts have been out for a number of months but EPSN's list just came out yesterday. Each recruiting service uses different methods to review players. Some watch live games, some watch tape and others attend a lot of camps. I feel ESPN is more of a "camp" recruiting service.
With that said, the future Wolverines in the 2013 class did very well in the top 150 by dominating 11 spots. Here is the list:
• No. 37 -- QB Shane Morris
• No. 63 -- CB Gareon Conley
• No. 75 -- LB Mike McCray II
• No. 92 -- OL David Dawson
• No. 97 -- OL Logan Tuley-Tillman
• No. 98 -- S Dymonte Thomas
• No. 105 -- OL Chris Fox
• No. 107 -- CB Jourdan Lewis
• No. 112 -- OL Kyle Bosch
• No. 115 -- DE Taco Charlton
• No. 121 -- OL Patrick Kugler
My initial reaction was Shane is a bit low but he didn't preform very well in the Dallas Elite 11 QB camp last month and ESPN is very high on Gareon Conley. For example Conley is a 4 star on Scouts but the 22nd CB in the country on Rivals he is 3 star and not even ranked as a CB. As you see above on ESPN he is the 63 player in the country and the 6th CB.
Some of the players that didn't make the list include: TE Jake Butt, LB Ben Gedeon, RB Wyatt Shallman and RB Deveon Smith. I think all these guys have a good shot to make the final list. Many people are very high on Ben but he is listed as an athlete because he plays so many positions in high school.
I bet your thinking: Hey Bob what about some of our recruiting targets in the class? How did they rank with ESPN?
Cravens 15
Fuller 27
Bosa 41
Treadwell 42
Vanderdoes 56
Isaac 68
Mathis 120
It seems EJ Levenberry did not make the list but is considered a 4 star prospect.
- Former Michigan RB Austin White is wanted by Campus Police at Central Michigan. He
is currently on CMU's roster.has now been kicked off the team.
