Big Ten Football Preview: Week 1

Welcome back to football my friends.  Tonight is going to feel great.

I do this post every week during the season, so you can keep track of the other Big Ten games and if certain match-ups are worth tuning in for.

Big Ten Game of the Week:

Big surprise here - that game will be previewed on Friday Morning.

Thursday Big Ten Game:

Minnesota at UNLV:  (Minn -8.5)  I'm not sold on the Golden Gophers/Jerry Kill yet but UNLV won two games last year.  11PM EST start.  Minn 21 UNLV 14

Friday Big Ten Game:

Boise State at MSU:  (MSU -7)  This game is getting zero exposure due to Michigan - Bama.  This is a good game and I believe BSU will give MSU everything they can handle.  Boise State is used to big games.  BSU 28  MSU 27

Saturday:

Ohio at PSU:  (PSU-6.5)  Time for healing and football in Happy Valley.  PSU 24 Ohio 10

Miami (OH) at OSU:  (OSU - 24.5)   The game will be closer then 24 points in Urban's first game in the Shoe.   OSU 28 Miami 14

Northwestern at Syracuse (NW -2)  This is a "sneaky" good game.  Syracuse is on the rise and Northwestern is solid with new 5 star WR from USC Kyle Prater.   NW 31 Syracuse 28

Western Michigan at Illinois: (Ill -10)  Illinois is re-building with a new coach.  WMU has a very good QB.  I think there could be an upset here.   WMU 17 Illinois 14

Iowa at Northern Illinois in Chicago: (Iowa -10)  Iowa always struggles in week 1.  They will be asking for volunteers to play RB before the game.  Iowa 28 N.Ill 24

Northern Iowa at Wisconsin (no line):  Really?  Someone give the MAC commissioner's phone number to Barry Alvarez.  Wisconsin 51 NI 7

Indiana State at Indiana: (no line) and no TV viewers.  IU 21 ISU  7

Southern Miss at Nebraska:  (Neb -20)  I think that line is high.  Southern Miss has a history of playing some good football.  Nebraska 31 Southern Miss 21
