MSU got bye Boise State tonight 17-13. Here are my random thoughts:
-Bell is a very good RB
-The offensive line has issues in pass protection
-Maxwell has trouble under pressure and threw 3 picks in the first half
-State has a solid defense and was the difference in the game
-Gholston looked a bit winded and out of shape
-BSU was inside the 10 yard line 3 times in the first half and came away with 6 total points.
-State's CB's are aggressive and can be beat deep
Both teams struggled moving the ball and scoring touchdowns. Bell was the best player on the field.
Note: I thought the entire ESPN crew was terrible (including the studio guys). Lou Holtz was clearly confused on the Fitz suspension. BTW: When you tell the story about State's long snapper that was a walk-on at Michigan and got a full ride from MSU, that story is sort of embarrassing to State. Also, it's DeAnthony Arnett not DeShawn. I didn't see DeAnthony on the field at all.
Come on Jemele Hill your a Sparty for goodness sakes. I wonder if she requested that gig tonight?
