Michigan Tuesday: It's Slow Folks

The news is pretty light coming out of Schembechler Hall these days.  The Wolverines haven't played in a week and half and the injury news is pretty light.    ESPN is doing articles on commits and their ability to laundry.   Yes, it's slow.

Couple injury updates:

  • Nathan Brink is out indefinitely after suffering an injury in practice
  • Brennen Beyer and Richard Ash are both expected back this week and making the trip to Purdue.

One of the things that Mgoblog touched on yesterday was a topic that I wanted to discuss.  MSU DE William Gholston was knocked out on the field during the Ohio State game and came back and played.   That is 100% un-acceptable and Dantonio should be fined by the Big Ten.   If you remember Brian Kelly did something similar with one of his QB's when they played Michigan a few years ago (that QB was not knocked out, but he did suffer a concusion).   When a player is knocked out cold they should not be allowed to go back in the game.  Concussions are a serious threat to this sport and if trainers, doctors and coaches continue this type of practice, it will have tragic consequences.

  • Former Michigan recruit Dee Hart is 2 of 2 in year ending injuries his first two years at Alabama.  This is his second ACL tear.
