Michigan Thursday: Big House Bullets

  • KJ Costello on his trip to A2 last year:  "I absolutely loved it," he said. "It was summer time. I want to see what it is like in the winter. Unbelievable coaching staff and an unbelievable opportunity there."  KJ is nearing a decision and wants to attend each of his final 3, one more time.   USC will get a visit this weekend and was his childhood favorite, Stanford didn't take a QB in 2015 and is considered the leader in the clubhouse.

  • Sounds like Michigan Basketball is being considered for Seton Hall Transfer guard Jaren Sina.  Jaren is 6'2 sophomore and averaging 7.0 points and 2 assists a game.  He would have to sit out a year.

  • Michigan continues to send out offers like Judge Judy verdicts:  KSU DE commit Xavier Kelly of Wichita, four-star WR Simi Fehoko, Houston (Tex.) RB Rakeem Boyd,  CB Mark Gilbert, OLB Koby Quansah, LB Elysee Mbem-Bosse and Portland (Ore.) ATH Lamar Winston.

  • A current university president who got fired from OSU for lying to the NCAA and got a long show clause penalty thinks the balance of power in the OSU/Michigan rivalry is Ohio recruiting"I think we might have lost one guy (in our 25-man 2002 class) to Michigan," Tressel said of his first big-time class at OSU. "The door closed and it hasn't been (opened again). "How far behind (is Michigan)? It (depends) on how long that door stays closed. That's the key. Urban will do a great job, they know how to win, they've got a great staff. But you've still got to keep it closed."  He is not right and he is not wrong.  Ohio has very good players every year and getting good players from Ohio is important.  If OSU wants to just recruit Ohio and Michigan recruits the nation, I will take our chances on getting top prospects from the other 49 states.

It's amazing to me that a guy like Tressel can be put into the College Football HOF and now Calipari is up for the same thing. Yet It took Brian Bozworth 20 years to do the same and who knows if Pete Rose will ever get in.

Just sayin'

"If OSU wants to just recruit Ohio ..."

I just read the article and there is no mention of OSU "just" recruiting Ohio. What Tressel said was that OSU needed to keep the dominance in Ohio recruiting.

I know, but he way saying that locking down Ohio is why OSU has done so well. Many of their top recruits have come from outside of the Buckeye state. I would also say Michigan has gotten some pretty good players from that state as well.
