Wolverine Wednesday: Hunter Is Back

Michigan Basketball might have one of the best rosters in the nation next year.   Hunter Dickinson after checking his draft status decided to come back and play one more year for the Wolverines.   Hunter had a great freshman year but his athleticism and outside shooting wasn't' quite ready for the NBA.   That isn't not a knock on Hunter as last year national player of the year Luke Garza will have trouble making an NBA Roster.

If you have been watching the NBA playoffs you see Brook Lopez score over 30 one game and get embarrassed trying to guard Chris Paul last night.  He didn't even play the 4th quarter as he was a defensive liability.  The league is a tough place for a big now and if your not freaking athletic with a 3 point shot, you're going to struggle to find a roster spot.

Now lets talk about next season.  Michigan is loaded:

Probable starting 5:

SG: Eli Brooks

PG: Devante Jones

C: Hunter Dickinson

F: Caleb Houstan

F: Brandon Johns

6th man most likely is: 5 star Moussa Diabate with a bench of Kobe Bufkin, Frankie Collins, Isaiah Barnes, Terrance Williams, and Zeb Jackson.   I don't want to jinx anything, but that is a Duke or UK roster.   You have a great mix of experience and young talent.   Time to get excited..

  • Monday's commit Mario is hinting at some more Michigan commits soon.
  • There has been plenty of buzz the last week that Alan Bowman from TT is coming to Ann Arbor to start.  He has the most playing experience but can he learn the offense in a month? That is the question as Cade has a huge advantage in that category.
