A Warm November Rain

Maybe replace rain with snow?

I wanted to post earlier but I've been high on adrenaline and life.  I stole this idea from Dan Lebatard's Twitter but this image pretty much sums up what happened today.   Michigan has been in rivalry jail for what seems like 20 years and today we got paroled.   We are free again and all bad football charges have been dropped and we can relocate (for a weekend) to Indianapolis.

I sat motionless all day watching this game.  As this day has caused more pain then joy for the past 20 years.  My family would try to talk to me and I just gave them a glance or a thumbs up indicating that I hadn't fallen into some type of football coma.  I was trying to control my emotions as I didn't want to over react to anything positive or negative.  I was just waiting for the game to end or OSU to make a comeback that hasn't been seen in this match-up.   There were clearly very high highs and even some real lows.  I was convinced the Cade pick early was going to flip the game to Ohio State.   I also watched the game hang in the balance as a screen pass just flies over Hutch's fingertips on 4th and goal.   This team is different and whatever OSU threw at them, Michigan had an answer.

For the first time ever in the Harbaugh era, the team was prepared and Michigan out coached Ohio State.  The team ran the ball with force and Cade made timely throws.  The offensive line played the best I've seen them play in probably 10+ years.   The last TD run by H2 looked like Ohio State was letting him score.   Coach Mac designed a defense to stop OSU's big plays and they did just that.   Hutch was just plain great today and recorded 3 sacks and has a Michigan record for 13 for the year.

This is Harbaugh's best win at Michigan without a doubt.    Let's review some cheers and jeers:

Cheers:

  • Haskins day was Biakabutuka like
  • Cade managed the game perfectly
  • Offensive line was dominating
  • 297 yards rushing!!!
  • 9 Wolverines caught a pass
  • Defense played bend don't break
  • No real big splash plays by the OSU WR's
  • The Bighouse crowd looked electric
  • Coach Gattis and Mac earned their salary today
  • Hutch is so good and should be in the Heisman consideration
  • I thought Josh Ross had a quiet good day
  • Brad Hawkins also played well
  • DJ Turner continues to impress
  • Great to see Corum back but I think re-injured his ankle on that long run
  • OSU ran for 64 yards
  • Michigan had very good special teams
Jeers:
  • Cade's pick was a bad read on a clear OSU zone
  • CJ did almost throw for 400 yards
  • Are we ever able to fall on a QB fumble?
  • Love AJ but still a little nervous on punts
Michigan will take on Iowa next Saturday in Indy.   What they did today was fantastic and program changing in many ways.  If they don't take care of business next weekend, then the win today was only for the Big Ten East Championship, not the full Big Ten.  Michigan finally makes the trip we have all been expecting for years and still has its goal in front of them.  The Big Ten Championship is all that matters, CFP and that other stuff will take care of itself.

What a great day and one I think we won't forget anytime soon!

I’m so happy for these boys. And for me. What a fun win. Hutch handed the Heisiman favorite 3 sacks… I say that’s an invite to the award ceremony. He’s a stud and a great kid.

I think so much of this team’s attitude is from Cade. He’ll never be the most talented qb on the field. But that boy is a winner. He’s what we need and he’s earned the keys to the team.

What a game good game... Let's hope we keep that momentum going into Big ten championship and playoffs.... We have to clamp down on the passing game we gave up way too many yards today....

Please never hire Don Brown for defensive coordinator

Great game, and well played by players and coaches alike. We needed this (I needed this)....This is the type of game we hoped for, but did not expect (after years of defeat). This victory ranks with the best of them not quite 1969 (but awful close) Let's all rejoice together and give the Michigan Man vs. everyone else a rest .... truly satisfying win, we are fortunate to have this blog to express ourselves (including my meager thoughts)

Guys I remember this game for a long time... I'll be honest I did not watch the game until it was over once I knew the final score I went back and watched the game.... Since then I watched it twice... I hope we do not play Alabama in the first round of course we have to take care of Iowa first.... Iowa beat us several years ago in their house and ruined our chance of making to the playoffs.... It's time for redemption... Bob and all the Michigan fans around the world congratulations.... To all the buckners in this blog who did not give Michigan a chance please do not drink and drive because you're 😭

Blue for life
Please never hire Don Brown for defensive coordinator

I’m now worried - but I’m bummed that I had said I would ignore your stupid posts, and fell back into it. So this is fully my last time replying to you.
The reason you get shit on this blog is because you are one of two things (or both). 1. A Bucknut troll, who has take the joke way too far; and/or 2. Someone who knows literally nothing about football. Your comments are like a 5 year old kid’s comments.

That’s why you are made fun of. But, I’ll ignore the stupidity and hope you just fade away.

*not worried

People here make lots of assumption.... If someone says something slightly negative about our team it does not mean they don't like Michigan... They are being truthful and they are assessing our team based on the play on the field some of you guys are delusional you just want to hear positives even if our team is bad but...that's not being realistic... I'm a realist I'll give my honest assessment about our team depending on their performance on the field... If they are good I will praise them if they are bad I will come down on them... That does not make me an Ohio State troll.. I'll be going back to Dubai next Saturday I wish our team all the best... I'll be back for the championship...

Blue for life
higher down Brown

No assumptions, you're a douchebag troll. And a terrible one at that, so obvious...

Dude, it’s bc you make the same basic, not remotely insightful comments. “Fire don brown”, five thousand times. You don’t seem to know about football, but want to participate as though you do. Your comments are so simplistic and repetitive… which adds to the annoyance.

More important, how have I not known about 60 minute recaps on B10 network?? It’s awesome. For my next trick, I’ll learn about the internet :)

MichiganMan said...

That brings me to my next question who do you guys want to see Michigan play in the first round....?

Blue for life
Fire Don Brown...hire Dom Brown

Justwin said...

Crap… Riley is going to USC. Think that creates a challenge with us stealing Domani.

MichiganMan said...

He's the West Coast five star I don't think he's wants to come play in this cold weather... Let him stay out there he might come and then transfer next year....

Blue for life
Higher than brown

Goblu said...

That’s kind of what I meant about simplistic comment. Domain has said Mich is one of his dream schools. He’s a smart kid with solid grades, and is making a considered decision. It’s not about the weather…

MichiganMan said...

Wow your such a PhD student or maybe just a high school graduate...your comment was such a high educated level.....USC is one of the best academic University in the country....why would he leave good weather and have the opportunity to play for a good University? Another delusional fan or maybe a OSU troll...go away

Blue for Life
Fire or Hire Dom Brown

Goblu said...

Right... so I point out that your comment about his decision being based on weather is a basic comment, and then you repeat what I wrote as if it was your idea. Oooook. This is why people don't like you on this blog.

But, replying to you. Michigan is considered a stronger academic Univ than is USC, although USC is strong. As I wrote, he is a smart kid and will balance many issues. One might reasonably assume that weather is the least important, given the three schools have very different weather.

MichiganMan said...

What a educated comment...I see your point of view...wow...well thought out....better than Michigan's victory...Highly educated...

Blue for Life
Higher Dom Brown

Goblu said...

Again... this is why people don't like you.

szanreno said...

Goblu do you mean people on this blog or in general? I would bet people in general don't like him. Just a hunch...
