Michigan Friday: Awards Season!!!

Jimmy was just named the AP Coach of The Year, which should give his bonus another injection of funds to the Michigan AD staffers.  Funny how you can be the national coach of the year, but your own conference gives it to a guy that finished in 3rd place.   Well done, Big Ten Voters.

Hutch adds more hardware in the Ted Hendricks Award and Chicago Tribune Silver Football Award

Jake Moody wins the Groza Award!

  • Kaleb Webb 2022 WR is announcing this afternoon.  Most expect a TN decision.

How about a million or more awards for die-hard fans that stuck thru it (thick and thin), since 2007.... I would not qualify for any awards, because the only way I could deal with the years of suffering was to block out Michigan football, and cared less when they lost.... I was a die-hard fan for forty years before, but now I admit I am a fair-weather fan! Oh well congratulations to Jim for not quitting and hanging in there!
An award for Bob for keeping this Blog alive, and not giving up also.

What this award tells me is something that we already know, and that there's an anti-Michigan bias in the B1G conference. It's been that way for year, even Bo Schembechler mentioned it when he spoke about how the conference would vote against Michigan in favor of other teams to go to bowl games. We've seen it when the conference would send would send pro-osu officials to officiate Michigan verse osu games. We've seen it when the officials "overlooked" the call against msu and they took a legitimate touchdown off of Michigan's board and wouldn't give it back...only later to tell coach Harbaugh "Opps! we made a mistake...sorry!" That contributed to Michigan's not having an undefeated season. Now we see them vote msu's coach to their coach of the year but the national AP sees our coach and votes him National Coach of the Year.

Staying in the B1G conference is like staying in a bad marriage with a spouse who hates you and looks to harm you at every turn. I wouldn't mind it if Michigan left the B1G conference, became an independent or moved to another conference. Maybe then Michigan would get some respect; and yes, while I'm dreaming maybe we can win the National Title having to deal with all of the national pro SEC bias, good night all. IMHO!!!
