I want to clean up a rumor and how Michigan handles injured players when they go on the road. A social media rumor was started that Cade was at home and the poster assumed he was going to transfer, since he wasn't with the team.
Let's break down why this assumption is mostly incorrect:
- Michigan Football has a policy that injured players don't travel. The Big Ten allows 74 players on road trips, which means 11 scholarship players have to stay home whether they are healthy or not. That is why injured players don't travel. There is a famous story of Rashan Gary driving to East Lansing the day of the game, because he was injured and not able to play.
- There is a new transfer portal window now in effect for all sports. From CBS: For fall sports like football, the period will be split into two periods. The first, a 45-day period, will start the day after championship selections are made. A second window will be instituted from May 1-15 so players can enter the transfer portal after spring camp. If you play for a school that has fired its head coach (ex: Wisconsin, Nebraska, GT, ASU, Colorado, etc) during the season, you can enter the portal right away.
- Cade is a captain this year.
- Cade has made some nice NIL money this year.
We don't know what is going to happen after the season and I expect Cade to consider all his options regarding staying or transferring. I wouldn't be surprised if he did enter the portal. Cade didn't play his freshman year but I believe he also has his COVID year, so if he transfers at the end of the year, I assume he will have 2 years at a new school.
I actually hope Cade gets healthy soon, because JJ's runs scare me, we're a snap away from Alan Bowman.
- David Ojabo is expected to practice this week for the Ravens. I hope he is 100% healthy and we see him on the field in a few weeks.
- PFF College says: JJ off play action is:

Thanks for the update, Bob. I didn't realize if a team fires their coach those players can enter the portal immediately. So, theoretically, could a player from Neb or Wisky transfer to Ohio State or Michigan in coming weeks? I am not saying it will happen or that I want it to, just asking.
You are so right about Cade mcnamara and it's so great to hear about David Ojabo
