It's a slow news day for Michigan Football and Basketball. So, we are looking at some recent coaching rankings.
That list is hard to argue with, though I just don't understand #10 James Franklin. He is a great recruiter and would rank him near the top of any coaches list if you just include recruiting, when you add in-game coaching he has to drop way down any list. James really has folks confused about his coaching ability. I did see a few years ago, he was voted the most overrated coach in college football.
You could argue Dabo should be higher than Jimmy with his National Championships, but Jimmy did coach in a Super Bowl. Kyle Whittingham is also a really good coach and probably the opposite of Franklin, as he does more with less rated recruits every year.
- Hunter is rated the #1 player in the transfer portal right now
- Michigan is killing it on offensive line recruiting in 2024 right now. What they don't have is a center. Jake Guarnera is a center and announces this month, with Michigan in his top 5 with Florida, Rutgers, Penn State, and NC State.
- Kliff Kingsbury is taking a gig on USC Coaching Staff. Still having his NFL contract to pay his bills, this is an interesting choice.
