Everyone likes Waffles, right? Owen Wafle used to be committed to ND but changed his mind about a month ago and the predictions quickly started trending towards the Maize and Blue. His official visit this past weekend confirmed everything and Owen committed to the Wolverines on the spot.
Who is Owen Wafle?
He is a 4-star defensive lineman from NJ that was ND's first commit in the 2024 class. He is a bit of a tweener at 6'2 290 but Mike Elston likes what he sees. If it's a defensive lineman with ND ties, you know Mike is involved in one way or another. “He seems like a really good coach,” Wafle said. “He’s a cool guy to be around. He has a very good coaching mentality and he really cares for his players. Also, his track record with defensive linemen also helped a little bit.” When I talked to him, he’s just hyper-focused on football,” Wafle said. “It’s really cool to be around.”
Owen had offers from ND, Duke, BC, Iowa, Oklahoma, MSU, and more!
Let's hope this is the first of many commitments from a big official visit weekend! Welcome Big Wafle House!
- Other visitors this weekend that are trending to the good guys: OT Bennet Warren, DT Deyvid Palepale, DE Dominic Nichols and DE Elias Rudolph.
- Remember when Donovan Edwards got caught on the first play of the CFP? I thought that was a little strange, until now. He was playing all season with a torn patellar tendon in his knee. Tore it against Hawaii.
- 2024 LB Jaden Smith will be announcing at 1:00 today. 👀
