Brady Hoke, Michigan's former head coach seems like a guy you would love to have a beer with but probably wouldn't want doing your taxes. If you haven't been following his career since he left Ann Arbor, he got one of his old jobs back and is currently the head coach of San Deigo State who has a brand-new stadium.
San Deigo State decided they wanted to be a free agent program and wrote to the Mountain West that they are leaving. There could be new opportunities for SDSU in the PAC 10 or another conference. The problem is, they didn't have anything cemented. The Mountain West Conference replied, "That's fine and we're keeping your $6.6M payout" SDSU replied, "what?"
So SDSU then needed some time to think and responded back to the Mountain West, "were just kidding and would like to stay". Mountain West decided yesterday that SDSU is now in good standing and will get their payment (minus some legal fees). Of course, Brady is not pulling the strings on this situation or decision but it sure looks like he is.
- 4-star Safety Jaylen Heward has de-committed from Georgia. He does have a Michigan offer and the Wolverines have continued to commit him, even after his original commitment. He has 41 offers, so I wouldn't hold my breath on this one.
- Josh Wallace is now with the team and working out and doing some player only drills/practice.
- PFF asks if Michigan has the best secondary? The answer is yes, if everyone is and stays healthy.

there's a direct correlation between secondary play and pash rush. I don't care how good you think your DBs are, if you pass rush can't get home, or at least hurry the QB, its going to be a long season. In the same vain, if you have an elite pass rush, a mediocre secondary can look really good! The key will be finding a consistent pass rush w/o having to blitz a lot. Hopefully some of the young DL talent will make a major impact this season.
I dont always have time to comment, but this week's Bighouse Blog has been spectacular. Lots of information and interesting perspective you can get no where else. Thanks to Bob and all the great posts. Keep em comin! Go Blue!
