Maybe we thought this young team was a little better than we thought? Young teams don't travel well when they play good teams. Another thing young teams do is make bad teams look good. Anyone catch the Wisconsin - Iowa score? Iowa blanked Wisconsin 37-0 in Madison. Is that the same team Michigan played last weekend?
Michigan got beat soundly in all 3 phases of the game. Wink continues to blitz when it was clear that USC was just going to dink and dunk no matter the pass rush. Not sure what Chip's plan was, but whatever it was it didn't work at all. It seems to me that USC's game plan would've been effective for Michigan's offense as well.
The biggest loss might be Michigan's best player Justice Haynes who left with what looks like a rib injury late in the 1st half when the game was tied 7-7. After he headed to the locker room so did Michigan's chances of winning this game.
There was a few bring spots but the Jeers will dominate this week.
Cheers:
- Marsh is a future star, excited about what he and Bryce can do
- Two turnovers Michigan defense got near the goal line
- McCulley TD was a great catch on a great pass by Bryce
- No drops that I recall
- Michigan got out coached in every aspect of the game
- Michigan did not seem prepared for the warm weather
- Not sure the officials understand Pass Interference - The first USC TD was OPI, The call on Marsh was not OPI, and on Bryce's pick it sure looked like McCulley got held up.
- The Defense has to stop giving each opponent a 7-0 lead every game.
- Bryce getting sacked on the 2nd drive and losing the field goal attempt was huge
- Justice's injury of course
- Bryce looks banged up
- Davis is not ready to be a college QB
- Damon Payne looks to have a serious leg injury
- How in the hell doesn't Michigan have a punter?
- I sure don't understand why Wink didn't flood the zone when it was obvious what USC was doing.
- Michigan doesn't have a 3rd string RB that is not a walk-on?
- Why are we not using the TE's?
- Michigan continues to not be able to travel West to play a road game.
- Sherrone has a terrible road game record
- The 2pt conversion attempt makes zero sense to me. Just kick it and make it 10 points

Cannot add to Bob's synopsis of game. Glad to see someone else (besides me) think the two-point conversion was stupid. My only question is what does Chowman name this game ,,,,, "Barf City Bowl" or the "Beat -down of Michigan Bowl" in the sunshine state. Going with comments made by others > is Moore is "over-employed and the results are proving this right!
Still thought the OL played like ass. Marsh has given the WR room a boost, and I'm glad to not see anymore of Goodwin. But my biggest angst and why I referred to him as Don Brown 2.0 is Wink. He gets blitz happy and even worse predictable. Yesterday is what go him run out of Baltimore and NY. Either his secondary isn't good enough or decimated by injuries, yet he'll continue to blitz knowing they'll never hold up in pass coverage. In NY, they were pulling guys out of Amazon distribution centers to play CB and Wink was still blitzing at 53% rate. Its why he and Daboll had a run in, and Wink told Daboll to get out of his office.
Hold many games like this are we going to have to sit here and go, well the coaching staff didn't have the team prepared or were out coached before we call out Sherone Moore? Outside of wearing a headset, he's a lot like Brady Hoke, chief cheerleader and not much more
Yes, we have another Brady Hoke and Sherrone is an OL coach at best, but Warde got his guy. Yes, Marsh looks good, but what does it matter? Sherrone is a deer in headlights and it's not his fault, but he should never have been hired to be the head coach at the University of Michigan. This is not a job you cut your teeth on. We are stuck with him and Michigan will be ok with this as the university as a whole is soft. He may get lucky like Lloyd Carr did when he had Charles Woodson, but other than that, Lloyd was the most under achieving coach with the talent he had. Sorry, I am ranting as I used to really enjoy college football. Now, I watch but not the same with the NIL garbage. It's a shame and all on Warde as he hated Jimmy as John U. Bacon wrote. But let's self impose more game bans because we are turtles instead of standing up and going after the NCAA. Sorry, there I go again.....
Harbaugh left at a bad time. By the time Jim took the Chargers job, there weren't a lot of options for a HC. Guy weren't leaving their current gigs and have to try and cobble together a staff. the best thing would of been to name Moore the interim coach, but that always comes with the risk of losing recruits. But a Cignetti has shown how quickly you can build a program thru the portal.
Yes, interim coach would've been the way to go, but Warde is a clown and hated Jimmy. Yes, it was a bad time, but again, Warde never backed him up from the start. This is where we are at and we are stuck with Sherrone. Nice guy, but....
Sherrone needs to go after this year. We look worse than we did against Oklahoma.
Oh how many screens did USC have to run before Wink was going to figure out Riley was taking advantage of Wink's over aggressive defense. Lincoln Riley took Wink Martindale to midfield at the colosseum and pants him. Wink's still standing there with his pants around his ankles. Don't want hear the travel to the west coast excuse either. Cignetti had IU ready to play and put a proverbial bullet in the Ducks . Hey Wink, USC just ran another screen
Going for 2 proves how stupid Sherrone is. He gotta go.
In a weird way, I envy MSU. they're clearly going to fire Jonathan Smith. now will the eff up that hire? no clue, but they know Smith is over his skis. with our soft schedule, we should have a winning record, but probably get garbage bagged by the Bucks. There'll be enough people in the fan base that go "we still had a winning record" and rally to keep Moore even though we'll lose to every team on the schedule with a pulse
Ain't Sherron an offensive line coach? He clueless in every aspect of this team. He ain't no head coach.
Brady Hoke went 11-2 his first year. Cuz he based the offense around Denard.
The problem is Ward thinks head coaches are entitled to 3 years. Rich Rod got 3 years, Hoke the Joke got 3 years, and Sherrone 'go for 2 for no reason' will get 3 years.
And then we always promote from within. How's that working out??
Chowman: Your last paragraph describes the situation we are in with 111% accuracy.
They had them 3rd and 27 and the guy rips off a long run for a first down that hurt really bad.. also on the touchdown before halftime it looked to me like the ball might have hit the ground when he landed I'm surprised they didn't challenge that or look at that
Bob appreciate your Blog, and tolerance for all comments ... but do me one favor. Start a collection at BHB to accept contributions from us (and others), to help pay for the relocation of Sherrone Moore back to his Alma Mater Oklahoma. (Or very least an Uber driver that drops him off in the middle of no-where) with no shoes and phone.
