So how fun was that? Many fans during last week's first half was calling for Lloyd Carr to come back. Well, folks you got your wish. Michigan for years has not been able to contain Quarterbacks that could beat you with both their feet and their arm.
Did this game remind anyone of the beating that Donovan McNabb put on Michigan in the Big House when he was with Syracuse? This is classic Michigan folks. Until Michigan sees that kind of athlete in practice everyday they will have trouble stopping a QB that wants to run first and throw second.
Unfortunately, I knew this was coming. Juice can win games by himself and if he can beat OSU in Columbus he could beat this team in Ann Arbor. This match up was never in favor of Michigan and I couldn't believe Vegas had Michigan favored. He was the best player on the field and showed it.
The game was closer then the score really shows, until Michigan again continued it's new trend of turning over the ball with or with out contact from the other team. The fumbles must stop or Michigan isn't even looking at a .500 team this year.
What is the deal with the 1st and 4th quarters? Does Michigan offense know they are supposed to score in the 2nd and 3rd?
The offense line to but it simply, is terrible. They didn't open any holes against at pretty bad Illinois defensive line that has gotten pushed around all year. The Defense did it's best but they still can't play on a short field or with little to no rest.
It was all around a bad game, we couldn't even make an extra point.
Change is difficult and at times it's down right ugly and makes you wonder why we are doing it. But we all need to remember, that this is a process and Michigan does not have the "Juice" it needs to be at the next level yet. So it's the Motor City Bowl or Bust for the Wolverines this year!
Cheers:
- The 1st two drives
- Odoms kick off returns before the 4th quarter
- The Dline played well most of the game but didn't dominate. The Juice did.
Jeers:
- Everything: Special Teams, Defense (mostly the DB's), Offense, and Coaching.
- Threet, continues to miss throws to wide open wide receivers. I know the line isn't doing him any favors but his accuracy has been poor since the ND game.
- The Offensive line can't stop anybody or open any running lanes!
- Turnovers! WTF?
- Minor and Shaw, come on guys. What is the deal?
- Blown chances with good field position. Michigan had the chance in the first half to score 21+ points but blew it by getting into Illinois territory and stalling out.
BTW: Toledo can put up the points, let's hope Michigan isn't a good host next weekend and shows them where the end zone is.
