Ever wonder where your favorite coach ranks in salary 1-100?

With Rich Rodriguez signing his new contract at Michigan last Friday, I thought I would show you where he ranks nationally. Check out if your coach makes too much money vs his performance or is it time for a raise.

You can be the judge with the list of the top 100 coaches salaries. I have a color scale to show you how I feel; if they are over paid, right on the money, or need a raise.

Green is spot on
Orange is time for a new contract

Interesting Tidbits:

  • The delta in salary between #1 and #100 is $6,125,000
  • Brian Kelly at Cincinnati makes more then Mark Dantonio does at Michigan State. (Dantonio left Cincy for the MSU job).
  • Kyle Whittingham and Bronco Mendenhall are going to be hot prospects in the coming months and will be looking at big raises.
  • Brady Hoke is not on the list and will be another "hot" prospect looking to hit the bank.
  • Mike Gundy is a "40 year old man!" that needs a raise.
  • Did Tom O'Brien take the NC State job for less money?
  • Bobby Bowden makes a $1M more a year then JoPa

JoePa is not underpaid -- he has donated millions (literally, millions) to PSU, so there is not really much point in raising his salary.

He is going to retire at some point right? It doesn't make sense that BB makes a million more a year then him.

I'm worried about his 401K. :)
