Michigan Tuesday: Coaching Rumor Mill

  • Footballcoachscoop.com is reporting that former Marshall head coach Mark Snyder interviewed with RR on Sunday for the open LB coach at Michigan. Mark is a former DC for Jim Tressel at Ohio State and Youngstown State. He was also a DC at Minnesota. It would make sense, since Mark and RR probably know each other from being in West Virgina at the same time. Mark would bring strong recruiting ties to Ohio and having defensive coordinator skills would also be a plus. He worked for "the Vest" which may rub some Michigan fans the wrong way. More to come on this story as this is the first reported interview for this position.

  • The rumor mill is also saying that Skip Holtz maybe named the South Florida head coach over Michigan's Offensive Coordinator Calvin Magee.

  • Central Michigan's new head coach is going to be Dan Enos, running backs coach from Michigan State. Dan was a former QB at MSU and has been known as a strong state of Michigan recruiter. An interesting pick for the "Chips".

  • LA media is saying that Jack Del Rio has an offer to be the next head coach at USC. Jack denies that USC has offered him the job. Jack has said he is staying as the Jaguars coach.

  • Steve Mariucci is rumored to be the next on USC's list.

  • Update: Another assumed canidate for the Michigan LB job Chuck Heater from Florida said this today: "I have a deep respect and relationship with Urban that goes back more than 20 years," Heater told the Orlando Sentinel. "I'm joined at the hip with him. It's personal for me. "There are lot of positives right now. We just have to maintain that in February."

Breaking News: Charles Woodson wins the NFL Defensive Player of the year award. Congratulations!
