Michigan Monday: Green Week

No Michigan doesn't play MSU this week in basketball (Purdue and Illinois).   Derrick Green will announce his decision on Saturday.   All signs point to a positive decision for the Wolverines, lets hope things don't change before Saturday.   I can't remember the last time Michigan got the #1 rated RB in the country? Ty Wheatley maybe?

Let's hope Green is Blue!

  • Date Change:  2013 Texas TE Durham Smythe has changed his visit date to Michigan from this coming weekend to 2/1.  He is visiting ND this weekend and he grew up an ND fan.   Some will say it's good for Michigan to get the last visit others say he might not make it out of South Bend with out a verbal.   We will see.

  • Roy Roundtree made SportCenter's top 10 on his catch in the Raycom Classic this weekend.  I hope Roy gets a shot as a late round or free agent to make an NFL team as a possession receiver.

  • Some new recruiting rules approved by the NCAA:  Basically coaches can call or text recruits as much as they want and use social media to contact recruits.  Which should be great for recruits data plans.

  • Michigan is on the final list for the projected top player in the 2014 class  DE Da'Shawn Hand.  DH says that Michigan has he favorite coaching staff of all the finalists.  Expect a couple of visits from Da'Shawn to Ann Arbor this summer.   He will take his official to Michigan for the OTL game against ND.

  • 2014 OT prospect Tommy Doles is expected to visit Ann Arbor this weekend.   He is 6'5 and 240 pounds OT from Grand Rapids.   He has a Michigan offer and he could pull the trigger on a commitment this weekend.   Obviously, he has a great frame but needs to put on 40-60 pounds.  I'm sure the Michigan S&C guys will have a talk with him if he does pull the trigger next weekend.  Tommy is expected to be a 4 star prospect when the 2014 ranking come out.

  • Jim Hermann is interviewing for the Eagles DC job.   I wonder if he has a relationship with Chip Kelly?
