It was only a matter of time right? Jared Wangler was committed to Penn State and had an LSU offer but the Wangler's are Michigan Men and Women. Jared committed to Michigan on Friday afternoon and will join his brother on Michigan's roster next year.
Jared is 6'1 and 225 pounds and will play LB at Michigan. He has been a bit under the radar but had been making some waves during the summer camps and combines. So much that he earned an invite to the Under Armour All American game. He used to play safety and now in a LB and maybe one of the reasons the recruiting services didn't rank him very highly. He is a 3 star to Scouts, ESPN and 24/7 but only a 2 star to Rivals. You don't see too many 2 star guys getting an invite to the UA game. His offer list included: Penn State, LSU, MSU, Yale, Cincinnati and some MAC Schools.
“It’s something special. There aren’t many opportunities to play with your brother and play where your dad played,” he said. “Coach [Brady] Hoke was telling me that he played football with his brother and it was an experience he’d never forget. That meant a lot to me.” espn
Jared is Michigan's 15th commit for the 2014 class and now the Wolverines will focus on the big time athletes in this class including: Da'Shawn Hand, Malik McDowell, JuJu Smith, Parrker Westphal, Montae Nicholson, teammates Marshon Lattimore and Erick Smith.
- Denard looked pretty good in his first NFL action. He had some nice carries.
- Derrick Green was all over media and kids day. I assume his injury is not serious and he should be ready to go against CMU.
- These kids from Cass Tech visited Michigan on Saturday: 2016 DT Michael Onwenu, 2016 OL Ostell Martin, 2015 LB Keith Jones and 2016 DB Lavert Hill.
- BTN Tom Dienhart was at practice and tweeted out some things:
Can't wait to see him in a year.
-WR Amara Darboh looked good. Al Borges marvels about how strong his hands are. He was running 1st team today.
-Al Borges told me Devin Gardner loves to study film more than Denard Robinson did. Borges says Gardner is more athletic than Jason Campbell.
