Michigan completed it's first practice yesterday. If you want to see Derrick Green run and Shane Morris pass in a Michigan Jersey check out the video at this link.
Here is some news and notes from Brady Hoke presser after practice:
- Fitz, Worm and The Count are all 100% and practiced on Monday. Wreck it Ryan spends practice running with trainers.
- Fitz quote; "I will be the starting running back on August 31."
- Norfleet is now a slot WR.
- Channing Stribling and Jourdan Lewis could return punts and kicks
- Freshman will be limited/late to practice due to class until next Tuesday.
BHB Thoughts:
I enjoyed the practice video and watching Fitz and Green run the ball. They both looked very sharp and I love the 1/2 punch they can give us this year. I also like that Norfleet is now a slot WR if he has good hands. He is a dynamic playmaker and needs to be on offense with at least a few touches a game.
Looks like Morris has a strong arm but not sure that was spiral that he threw.
Great to have most of the injured players back and it sounds like Ryan is healing quickly.
The team won't go full pads until Friday so this week will be mostly working on technique.
I do like the practice jerseys. Adidas should consider selling those instead of some of the other gear they are marketing.
- Good to hear that Stevie Breaston got signed by the Saints. I know the Lions were looking at him but it's good to see him still in the NFL. After he signed the big contract with the Kansas City he sort of disappeared. He has also been dealing with a knee injury that seems to be healing now.
- Austin Hatch will continue his basketball and high school career in LA at Los Angeles Loyola. He has moved out West and will live with family members. I certainly send nothing but good luck to he and his family and hope he makes it to Ann Arbor after this year.
- Jared Wangler is expected to visit Michigan Practice on Thursday. Might we have a decision from this legacy Wolverine family member this weekend? He is committed to Penn State but has offers from Michigan, LSU, MSU, Indiana, Cincinnati, Yale and most of the MAC. He is rated 3 stars by most services and 2 stars to Rivals.
