Wolverine Wednesday: Opening Tidbits

  • Scouts ranks Darrin Kirkland as a top 10 defensive player on Day 1Kirkland, a Michigan commit, has worked hard on his ability to run and move in space and that was on display today as he was one of the top linebackers in coverage. He could run with backs and did a nice job playing the ball in the air, coming away with a couple of interceptions.

  • NFL Coaches at The Opening include:  Johnny Manziel, Richard Sherman, Honey Badger, and St. Louis Rams running back Tre Mason.

  • Former Michigan commit, George Campbell ran a 4.3 40 yard dash

  • From Scouts:  The Midwest’s top prospect, Madison (Ky.) Southern running back Damien Harris remains uncommitted but spoke highly of Ohio State and Kentucky, two teams considered to be battling it out for him. Michigan, the school he previously was committed to, will get a visit from him for July’s BBQ at the Big House, and he admits that visit could go a long way to determining if the Wolverines can get him back in the fold.

  • Andrew Wiggins signs with Adidas which only holds 3% of the US Basketball market.  Who is going to lock up Nik?  Are the Air Stauskas coming a store near you?

  • Speaking of Nik, he signed his rookie contract with the Kings last night.
