Big Ten Weekend 3 Preview

So how did last weekend go for the Big Ten?  For those of you living under a rock, not well, not well at all.  This week is full of interesting games and the first Big Ten Match-up of the year.

Big Ten Game of the Week:

Penn State at Rutgers:  This is the first game for Rutgers in the Big Ten and Penn State just got really good news this week from the NCAA. Like all Big Ten teams, both of these teams have flaws and probably very similar.   PSU is a 3.5 favorite and I like them in this match-up.   Penn State 24 Rutgers 17

The rest of the league:

Indiana at Bowling Green:  There will be two Big Ten games near Ann Arbor on Saturday.   IU travels to a MAC school to play a football game.  IU is favored by 7.5 and I don't believe BGSU has much this year.   IU 41 BGSU 14

West Virginia at Maryland:  This is a good match-up and could be considered the best Big Ten game of the week.  WVU played Alabama tough and Maryland hasn't really made any headlines this year but is still 2-0.   Maryland if favored in this game by 3.5,  I like WVU in this one.   WVU 21 Maryland 20

Kent State at Ohio State:  OSU is favored by 32.   OSU 38 KSU 10

Iowa State at Iowa:  ISU almost had a big upset last weekend, Iowa like normal has started very slow this year.   Iowa is favored by 10 points.  I think ISU will upset the Hawkeyes in this instate rivalry.  ISU 24 Iowa 21

Minnesota at TCU:  This a difficult game for the Golden Gophers.   TCU is favored by 14 points at home.   I think Minnesota is playing better then they are getting credit for.  They will keep it close for awhile but will blow it in the end.  TCU 31 Minnesota 27

Illinois at Washington:  Neither team plays defense but Washington plays offense.  UW if favored by 13.5 points.   They will win this one easy.  Washington 42 UI 24

Purdue vs. ND in Indy:  ND is favored by 28 points, if they don't let down this will be an easy one.  ND 48 Purdue 7.

Nebraska at Fresno State:  This normally would be a tough trip for the Cornhuskers but Fresno is 0-2 this year and USC blew them out week one.   Nebraska hasn't played well this year and will struggle this week as at 10.5 favorite.   Nebraska 17 Fresno State 10

Bye week for Wisconsin, MSU and Northwestern.

Michigan will be previewed on Friday morning.
