It's Basketball Season, It's Basketball Season, It's Basketball Season

That's what I keep telling myself.

The boys played hard today but the better team won.  Sometimes when you lose you win which is hopefully the case for the Wolverines this off season.   Sometimes you win but you lose, which might be the case with Buckeyes and losing their QB.   I think the Playoff Committee will have a hard time putting in the Buckeyes with their 3rd string QB into the playoffs  (if there are other 1 loss deserving teams), even if they win next week.

Observations:

  • Today's offensive strategy is what I have been calling for all year.  Where the hell was dumping the ball off to the RB's in the passing game for the other 11 games?  Michigan might have won 2 or 3 more ball games if the offense moved the ball like they did today.   Not to mention getting the ball to Jake Butt.

  • Funchess caught the ball today and looked like he was into the game for the first time in about 5 weeks.

  • The boys played well and I wasn't sure they were going to after Devin's terrible first pass.

  • Did anyone catch the Michigan coaching mistake near the end of the 2nd quarter?  Michigan punted the ball to OSU with 15 seconds still on the play clock and the game clock still running,  OSU scored a momentum changing TD with 7 seconds left in the first half.   Stupid.

  • It was nice to have a Michigan Man in the booth for a change.  Well done Brian!

  • Devin Gardner had a nice moment with JT after he went down with his leg/ankle injury.

  • Congrats to Drake Johnson on his nice day, I hope his knee is ok.

This season is now over, time to win the off season.  Jimmy please save us!

Hey Bob first off great article the question regarding today being Sunday why does Nebraska who hasn't ever missed a bowl fire their coach well it's simple they're not where they should be even though they're having success they're not where they should be that's exactly how we should be doing it at Michigan...for some reason Brady is still our coach this is unacceptable this year has been so unacceptable and yet he is still our coach..I applaud Nebraska for knowing that they can be better and I wish Michigan would just stop waiting and move on

Cool down Michigan fans, whether or not Brady Hoke is a complete failure in some fans opinions, he has been a loyal employee, hard working, honest and decent man. If you just judge success on wins and losses then yes it has been quite a struggle for coach. There has been very successful programs that have cut corners slid past rules got caught and paid penalties. It's great to win, but to win the right way! Coach Hoke and his Quaterback have shown more class and dignity than many fans of the program.
