Michigan "Hokes" Another Dumb Loss

When your a bad team, it's important you don't beat yourself or what I like to call,  "Hoke yourself".

Michigan played a poor one dimensional team that looked a lot like the Wolverines.   The play of the game was a plenty by a walk-on that brought back a Norfleet punt return for a touchdown.    That TD would of put Michigan up by 2 touchdowns, instead it took the wind out of the Wolverines sail.

Mental mistakes cost them the game and a clear microcosm of this terrible season.   This pretty much seals the fate for Brady Hoke to the unemployment line and means Michigan will not be attending a bowl this year.   (they have to upset OSU to get to 6 wins)

Devin Gardner, congratulations on leaving Michigan with your undergrad and masters degree.  You are a classy individual and I wish you luck in you next step.

Jake Ryan, I have enjoyed every snap you played.

Cheers:

  • Sometimes when you lose - you win long term.   I hope this is an example of that happening.
  • Joe Kerridge had an excellent day
  • Michigan moved the ball well on the ground
  • RB's ran hard
Jeers:

  • I thought Coach Nuss called a terrible game.   It's embarrassing to lose a game like this after running the ball so well.
  • Sometimes the offense line looked like they forgot to block
  • Michigan continues to have zero passing game
  • More Drops. Really?
  • Michigan's DB's played very poorly all day
  • Michigan got out coached again
  • Two penalties took 7 off the board for Michigan and gave Maryland 7
  • Specials team went from great to terrible with two penalties and a missed field goal

I know this is not a breaking news, but this team is terrible.   It lost to both Rutgers and Maryland this year.   Hoke needs to do a Will Muschamp and resign effective a week from Monday.    There is no way he saves his job now.   Even if there is some type of miracle in CBus, Hoke has to go.

What a way for the seniors to go out.   Just plan embarrassing.

This team is in need of a complete overhaul.   What a disaster this season has been.   Thank goodness there is only a week left.   Next week will be hard to watch.

BTW: Mike Weber has de-committed.  No surprise there.

Screw you Mike Weber and all the others that jumped ship. Do they really think that Michigan isn't going to get a REAL Head Coach next year? I've seen Weber's videos and he has NO BURST anyways. I'm glad he decommitted. No loss there. he couldn't carry Harris' jock.

Devin Funchess isn't worthy of the #100 jersey much less the #1 jersey. He should have stayed at TE b ecause he gets NO separation at all and can't catch the ball when he does. Oh, by the way, STOP throwing him the wr screen. He can't beat any defenders 1 on 1.

The OLine is actually improving. There's hope with some better coaching that they can improve pretty fast next year.

Devin Gardner, you have a lot of heart kid and I admire that. You can't play QB, but you have heart and class. Best of luck to you.

Raymon Taylor.....GOOD BYE! Don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out.

Brady Hoke, you're a class act. Thanks for the effort and the class you showed throughout your tenure. I wish it would have worked out better.

I wonder who's going to be taking snaps next year?
I sure hope Isaac is the real deal because our other 4 backs are "nothing special".
This offense needs a receiver that can separate. I hope Drake is that guy if he ever gets healthy.
Canteen didn't impress me in any games not played in the spring.

It's almost Jimmy time!!!

Every coach that came from SDSU has units that suck!!! And, players that are underdeveloped. Heckinski, the wide receivers coach is just another.

I'm sure they're all nice guys like Hoke.....It wasn't even fare to put any of them in a position of sure failure.

Assistants make the team - I just hope the next guy gets what M pays for!

No use taking about it any more....it's just sad sad sad. I feel sorry for Madison, Nus, and a couple of others for being surrounded by such total incompetence. hoke didn't care enough about his job or was just plain too stupid to fix it. I'd go with stupid since he's absolutely abysmal with game decisions, clock mgmt, etc.

I squinted a little during halftime and that dinosaur looked like Hoke.......How apropos!!! Great job by the M Marching Band!!!

DUMB - Any assistant from SDSU

DUMBER - Hoke for his game decisions, clock management, and bringing those assistants

DUMBEST - Brandon for getting way too drunk and that 2:30 am decision to bring that band of idiots here!

Sorry - still pissed after watching yesterday - could have rotated my tires, or organized my sock drawer.....It's almost over, isn't it?

Why is Michigan's offense just as inept this season as last, with a totally different OC? An OC that has a track record of real success....

I am beginning to wonder if Nuss isn't just a puppet on the sidelines, and Brady is really calling the horrible shots. Just wondering out loud. Also, why would Johnson who averaged 5yds per carry, share the load with Smith who averaged 2 yds per carry? I'm not a football coach, but 5 yds per carry is more than double 2 yds per carry in my math.

I just hope we don't suffer our biggest embarrassment of the season Saturday. It's time for this nightmare to be over.

I've been thinking the same thing, but came to the conclusion that it isn't Nus's fault. Looking at the offensive line they just plain can't generally get a push, and can't open holes, execute schemes, etc....Even though there role has been dummied down - Given that they are highly touted recruits, I think that there is a major problem with the O-Line coaching (Funk from SDSU), and possibly the S&C work with the O-Line (Wellman from SDSU). Also the highly touted running backs don't seem to be able to find holes, make the right cuts, etc. (I really don't think that Jackson is a great RB coach). And then there are all of the drops by highly touted recruits and bad route running (WR coach Hecklinski from SDSU). And why hasn't Devin developed into a guy making better passes and decisions (no QB coach - wow - all good QB's (Cook, Hackenburg, etc. have great QB coaches dedicating their time exclusively to the QB-s - WTF)). So, though Nus could be a great coach, he's dummied things down, obviously, but he was set up for failure. The blame definitely falls on Hoke though for not hiring top 50 assistants at every position and then throw on top of that his terrible pathetic clock mgmt, decision making, coordination between units, etc....wow! Furthermore, at the few practices I have watched 80% of the players are just standing around. So in any hour of practice that would mean that they are really getting 12 minutes of actual learning....Very poor practice time utilization. RR ran great practices with everyone moving all of the time by dividing into smaller groups, etc. Have others made similar observations?
