Wolverine Wednesday: Michigan Hired The QB Whisperer

Let's forget what happened on the floor last night.  The NBA and injuries have temporary taken the Michigan Basketball program from Coach B.   They will be back, Coach B is known for developing players not necessarily having a one and done freshman class.  This year is a wash.

If you had to guess who was at Schembechler Hall yesterday, I'm pretty sure these two guys wouldn't be your top pick:  Jameis Winston and Bryce Petty.  They have been working with QB guru George Whitfield in California and stopped by Ann Arbor to get used to the weather, time change, and to speak with QB whisperer Jim Harbaugh.

“His résumé speaks for himself,” Petty told the Daily. “If you know anything about football, you know Coach Harbaugh. It’s been a blast really getting to talk and sit down with him, just to get his advice, his expertise on football and on evaluating and what they’re looking for.

“You don’t get there without being legendary, really. He knows so much about football, has so much to offer as far as the position because he played quarterback (and because of) the position as a head coach in the NFL, what they’re looking for, how to take on going from college to the NFL.”

“These kids are very lucky. Coach Harbaugh is a blessing to this program, and they’re going to win a lot of games.”

Petty even added some recruiting flavor:  “As far as facilities go, football-wise, shoot, I don’t know how you turn Michigan down. It’s kind of crazy as far as what they’re offered here to call home.”

Having the top QB's in the draft coming to talk with Jimmy, won't hurt future QB recruiting to Ann Arbor.

  • Michigan offered visitors 2017 prospect Donovan Peoples-Jones and 2016 prospect Desmond Fitzpatrick last night.

Well, basketball hasn't been what we'd like, but they are actually a fun team to watch.
What a difference it makes to have a HC that instills confidence... We have walk ons and true freshman playing real minutes and somehow still manage to play competitively. This season will be a positive because of the experience these youngsters are getting... Coach B has done the unimaginable the last few years, losing the talent to the NBA and injuries, it was bound to catch up at some point... and it has.
