Michigan Tuesday: At The Limit

This is a slow time of year for Wolverines fans.   The Spring Game is over and the Michigan Football Program won't be back on the field until August.   So it's pretty much recruiting news from here to fall camp.

Same with basketball news, but we have a few interesting things happening.

  • Caris is expected to still be in a walking boot for another month or so.  He has about 2 weeks to make a decision on the NBA Draft or not.   I expect he will take most of those 2 weeks to announce his decision.

  • Since Michigan Basketball is at their scholarship limit, whether Caris goes pro or not leaves Michigan with one or none spots.   Jaylen Brown has Michigan in his final group and is deciding this month.  Another name that popped up on the radar is former VCU commit Kenny Williams, who is backing out of his commitment because Smart is leaving for Texas.   Kenny is a 6'2 shooting guard and rated around the top 100 in the country.   This is a Beilein type player but there are plenty of shooting guards on the roster.    Another way to add a scholarship would be to put Austin Hatch on medical hardship, which means he would keep his scholarship but couldn't play in games for the Wolverines.   Coach has said, he isn't planning on doing that.

  • Matt Falcon is recruiting for guys to join him in the class:  "The best players in the state play for Michigan," Falcon says. "I'm trying to recruit names in the state and trying to get them to join the family. "That's what I tell them when we talk. It comes up in conversation. I'll keep on them about it and see what they have to say about it."

  • 2016 Instate Kicker Quinn Nordin is visiting MSU today.

How about a post on our biggest realistic targets for 2016's recruiting class?
