Michigan Tuesday: Time and TV Set For Utah and Recruiting Update

Michigan played well against the current national champions last night but lost by one run 3-2.    Michigan will have a chance to extended the season to Wednesday by winning today.   Good luck!

  • The PAC-12 announced that their partner Fox Sports 1 will carry the Michigan - Utah game at 8:30 EDT.    My first reaction was: what?  But then I remembered Fox Sports 1 carries PAC-12 games and that ESPN will be showing TCU at Minnesota.   TCU is considered one of the best teams in the nation and Minnesota is coming off a nice season.   The bonus here for Michigan fans could be that Gus Johnson might call the game.   Gus is from Detroit and considers himself a Michigan Football Fan.   Harbaugh's first game and Gus Johnson?   That sounds like a fun Thursday night to me!

Recruiting Update

  • As mentioned yesterday, RB/Athlete Chris Evans who visited this weekend and announces on Saturday is expected to be a Michigan commit.   Chris could play a number of positions and it sounds like he was offered as an athlete.  My guess is he could be a RB, WR or DB.  If you haven't noticed, Jimmy loves recruiting athletes that can play a number of positions.  It gives him a ton of roster flexibility.

  •  Paramus Catholic WR Donald Stewart very much enjoyed his visit and has Michigan as his leader.  A decision is not expected until later this summer, but the Wolverines are in very good shape here as he takes some more visits.   As you know, Donald is teammates with #1 recruit in the nation Rashan Gary and his former head coach is now on Michigan's staff.

  • Michigan also continues to gain ground in the recruitment of Farmington Hills Harrison DE Khalid Kareem.   He committed to MSU for about 5 minutes already and the Spartans are still the team to beat, but the Wolverines continue to make Kareem a priority and it seems to be making an impact.

  • Four-star IN DE Auston Robertson is announcing on Sunday but did visit A2 with his mother this weekend.   Since his announcement is so close, most insiders believe its a MSU or ND decision.   At least the Wolverines gave Auston something to think about.

  • Five-star 2016 WI OT Ben Bredeson continues to be a big Midwest recruiting prize out there.  As we know, Ben's brother will be playing baseball at Michigan and it sounds like the Wolverines staff did a great job recruiting him this weekend.   Many believe this a Michigan vs. ND decision.

Michigan is hosting a number of instate high school juniors or the class of 2017 today.  Those expected to attend include:  Josh Ross, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Ambry Thomas, Allen Stritzinger, KJ Hamler, JaRaymond Hall, Jaylen Kelly-Powell, and Carter Dunaway.  Carter is already a commit and I really like Josh Ross and DP-J!  Love that Michigan is already recruiting this class very hard.   If they can get some on the field success, recruiting is going to become much easier.

Base running mistake in the last inning cost the ladies a chance to go extra innings. I hope the bats heat up and they can force a game 3.
