Big Ten Week 12 Matchups with some News and Notes

Another weekend of stinkers for the Big Ten.  The TV networks must love paying millions for games this weekend.

Friday:

UCLA @ Washington (-4):  So UCLA has been playing pretty well of late and UW hasn't.  UW is favored because Big Ten teams don't play well on the road.  Take UCLA and the points.   UCLA 21 UW 20

Saturday:

OSU (-28.5) @ Northwestern:  Enjoy the lake views!  I expect it might be windy.  OSU 41 NW 9

MSU @ Illinois (-3):  Illinois is better and I expect them to beat Sparty.  Its the Big Ten road game thing.  Illinois 24 MSU17

Penn State (-28) @ Purdue:  Wow, what a terrible game.  PSU 40 Purdue 12

Nebraska @ USC (-9.5):  Does Nebraska have a bowl game curse?  Does it have to do with them sharing the National Championship with Michigan in 1987.  Correct!  USC 31 Nebraska 21

Rutgers @ Maryland (-6): Can we send these teams to the ACC?  You would have to pay me to watch this game.   Maryland 19 Rutgers 13

Oregon (-14) @ Wisconsin:  How are things in Madison?  This seemed like a good match-up prior to the season starting.  I like the Ducks and the points.  Oregon 38 Wisconsin 10

  • Mikey is a captain for tonight's game!
  • TN QB is questionable for the big game against Georgia this weekend
  • Should ND be in the playoffs after losing to Northern Illinois at home?
  • Former Michigan QB commit Carter Smith could be heading to FS
  • Current LSU commit QB Bryce Understood is reported to have a 10.5M offer from Michigan's NIL groups for 3 years.  This is going to be a fun month seeing how this one ebbs and flows.  Is he going to live in the dorm or buy the dorm?

Klunker games this week!

Article claims Warde sent Sherrone a 3 word message- "Prove your worth".

Anyone else remember the Brady Hoke era game against Northwestern when Drew Dilio came sliding in to hold for a last second field goal? I've got that same sinking feeling about next week's game. Struggle to beat Northwestern. Smh

Brady - I remember that game. And - yes - that is where we are at.

Until Moore gets him team prepared, makes strong halftime adjustments and manages the game well in my mind he is still Charlie Weiss 2.0.

FS?

How many games before he learns that? I'll say it again, Michigan is not an internship. You don't get to learn on the job. Look its a perfect storm coming this offseason. Both coordinators need to go. You best 5 or 6 players are leaving for the NFL and there's little or no back fill. Stop hoping this guy is going to figure it out and just move on. If the program is to bottom out, I'd rather it be this next season and not 2026.

I am sick and tired of hearing everything about Underwood. Move on....he is NOT coming. Why would he with the dumpster fire we have now. As I said before, put all your eggs in one basket and you end up with egg on your face. It happened before and it is going to happen again. Michigan had a quarterback in the 2025 class and now they have zero. Wake up.

Florida State....(FS).....it is sad we only have two more games remaining...I could remember how excited I was for the season to start.....I knew disappointment was going come right after the first game....right there I knew we have a QB issue and elementary style offense...oh well there is always next year!!

Chowman- Exactly. I read today that Sherrone is telling his coordinators to come up with their best stuff during the bye week. What Sherrone doesn't understand is that he needs to go to these coordinators and TELL THEM, look, I want more pressure here, let's try doing X, Y, and Z. Or, I want more play action on offense. Let's do this, this, and this. You don't just sit with your thumb up your ass and hope these guys do something.

And Underwood hardly exemplifies Michigan team unity. This would be a total 180 from the Championship lockerroom Jimmy had.

Thom: exactly. Plus why would you sign up for that kind of pressure. He'll be expected to be the savior of the program. Come in with a substandard OL and no WR room. Compared to LSU where they bring in 5 stars every year to replace the 1st round picks that go to the NFL

ok, I equate Florida State as FSU, where I thought FS might be Fresno State......lol IF that's as good as he could do, then he wasn't much of a recruit

As of now, Underwood is currently staying at LSU despite a significant NIL offer. That said, NIL doesn’t appear to be the only factor here. Per Trieu, Michigan’s offensive performance and their plan for the future also plays a factor.
