Michigan Tuesday: Harbaugh Feedback

As you know, I'm a firm believer of not letting the best coach or coaches walk out of your building without you trying to do everything in your power to stop it.  I think I was pretty clear about that in my post to Warde yesterday.

Here is how Justin Herbert feels about Jim Harbaugh:  "[Harbaugh's] the best, and to have a guy like that leading the team, you know, it shows up. You turn on the tape, and everyone wants to play for him, wants to fight for him. And I think guys are playing energetic. They're excited to be out there, and they're having fun,"

Thanks again Warde, great job!

The NCAA is going to investigate CMU and Jim McElwain regarding whether Connor Stalions was on the sideline for the CMU-MSU Game.   McElwain was on Harbaugh's staff for a year so there is a small connection there.  But I do have a few questions:

1. If Connor says he wasn't on the sideline and CMU says he wasn't, how are you going to break this case Columbo?  You don't have subena rights.

2. Doesn't the NCAA have more important items to investigate?  This story is over.

3. CMU has 3 wins this season and Michigan has 5.  I think that is enough punishment already.

4. The real investigation should be if Jim knows a large shark.

Move on NCAA.

Speaking of Connor, he is now on the playoff staff of Bellville HS.  There is a player on that squad that you might have heard of.

Also CMU takes on Toledo in MACtion tonight!

  • 4-star Michigan DB commit Ivan Taylor is expected to flip to Bama.
  • RIP former USC and Rams coach John Robinson.
  • Michigan OC Kirk Campbell is hitting the road to recruit during the bye week.  Many fans wish he would hit the road for good.
  • Of course the Northwestern - Michigan game can't be a noon kick.  Both teams are terrible and for some reason it has to be at 3:30.
  • Did Sherrone bench Mullins?  Things are going well for Sherrone right now.
  • Things we didn't mention from last week that needs a spotlight:
    • Welcome 5 star Basketball recruit Trey McKenny!  Nice Dusty!
    • Michigan Basketball lost a close game on Sunday to Wake Forest.  Bad start time, 1:00 on a Sunday.
    • Michigan Flipped 3 star WR Jamar Browder from NC State.

Trey McKenny is a Top 20 recruit, one of the highest ranked players UM has got since Glenn 'Little Dog' Robinson.

Players are starting to flip now that the losing spiral has begun. Not a good sign.

No coach 'deserves' 3 years, they earn 3 years. One deserves an opportunity, and Sherrone has gotten one. Anything more than that is considered entitlement, and no one is entitled to anything, especially first time ever Head Coaches..

QB help may be on the way. Jack Brady has gone on record saying he'd like to be QB for the University of Michigan. Jack is only 15 yrs old now, but is already 5'11". Scouting report says strong work ethic and rich blood lines. Yes, Jack is the son of the GOAT, Tom Brady.

All I want is for Warren to pass for 250 yards against Northwestern, before the OSU beat-down. I lied .... I want all useless coaches and Cue-ball (athletic director) look a like's
made to disappear.

Brady is correct > the trainwreck is only starting, can go on for years, until corrective action is taken.

Jim was NEVER staying at Michigan if he had ANY NFL offer. He was done. He was done with the NCAA. He was done with dealing with recruiting. He was done with the NIL and TP. He was done. It has always been his goal to win a SB!! John has a SB ring and Jim wants one too! I think Warde is a putz. he's been a disaster as an AD at Michigan, but there was NOTHING he could one LA offered Jim a job.

Almost all of your high profile players come to a school to be promoted for the NFL. They won't come to a school that's going to lose. They want to play in prime time games and play in the CFP

I do believe it was Szanreno who said this is the beginning of a multi-year downfall. Opposite of Michigan man who stated things will be fine next year ..... I also believe in the "Great Pumpkin" Anyways, what do hillbilly's do for Halloween .... they Pump > kin!

Missing a bowl game this year might expedite your wish!

and why you stop the bleeding now and dump Moore and his whole staff!

Thanks for the tip of the hat. I merely pointed out that 5-6 defensive players are headed to the NFL, Edwards and Loveland will be gone from the offense. Result, cupboard bare. Paying 5-10 mil for a qb will be wasted cash as he will have zero supporting cast, how long would you stay? Hit the portal bring in 3-4 star players, develop them, and perhaps in 3-4 years you will have a serviceable team, if you're lucky. If UM gives Underwood 10 mil and the big man on campus status, guess who's now running the team? Lastly Moore will not be fired this year, he may even make it to a 3rd if next season is not worse than this. Wink is even money, hell in my opinion the defense is better than the offense and believe me I'm no fan of the ruddy faced has-been. I've always judged people by sense of urgency. Remember when Harbaugh always seemed to be everywhere all the time recruiting and striving for improvement. Harbaugh is not the reason for this debacle, stop the hate. I'll stay with my prophecy of we're in for a long drought. Damn I'm too old to go through this again...

szanreno, that was harbaugh at the beginning. He was out recruiting all the time. At the end he was more concerned about the NFL than anything else. Look, you and I probably have a different view on this. I believe just because you build something doesn't mean you get to burn it to the ground! Part of the reason you are stuck with Moore and the coordinators is by the time Jim found his NFL gig, anybody worth a spit was already employed. So you had to promote an average QB coach and hire a washed up/over-the-hill DC from the NFL that nobody in the league wanted.

Curious as to what your thoughts are on Lloyd Carr. He courted, pushed for, and did his best to get RR to Ann Arbor. Then he back doored him every chance he got, to the point where people started calling him paranoid Lloyd. He also did zero recruiting during his last year of coaching. He did way more damage than Harbaugh ever did. Did Harbaugh's thoughts about the NFL surprise anyone?!? Hardly. If you knew your boss may leave and you're next up what's your plan? Sit and wait?!?

Has there ever been a returning national champ that didn't make a bowl game the following season? Love setting records!

NO I think our fall has been historic!

At the time I had an in at Schembechler hall. What I was told, 3rd hand so take it with a grain of salt, was LC was more worried about his legacy and may not have been helpful to RR. He also absolutely torpedoed the Les Miles thing. 20/20 hindsight, maybe not that bad of thing. But what I was told is he didn't want somebody to come in and do better than he did, i.e. 1997!

Szanreno- I agree, a plan should have been in place by Warde. He knew for YEARS that Jimmy was going to the NFL. Should have had a short list of quality coaches ready.

Pat Caputo keeps saying Sherrone was set up to fail. Not sure why anyone would want someone to fail, especially at this level.

Lloyd's grandson going to Notre Dame speaks volumes. There's more to this than we will ever know.

I've been around a few high school head coaches and they all have HUGE egos. I wouldn't doubt those rumors one bit.

You dont think Sherrone is drawing up any new plays, do you? Lol He needs to hire Henry Winkler's character from The Water Boy to come up w some plays that work.

My family is questioning even having the annual Ohio St game party. Said it might feel like a funeral.

Also, Lloyd's been conspicuously absent once he retired. I know he's up in age now, but I never hear a peep from him. He would've made a good A.D.
