Michigan Thursday: Welcomes Justice Haynes

Michigan had a running back named Justice Hayes who was born in 1992, from Grand Blanc, and played at Michigan from 2011- 2014.  He did not commit to Michigan on Christmas Eve.  Transfer portal RB from Alabama Justice Haynes did.

In a strange 12 month span, Michigan will have played Alabama on New Years Eve 2023 in the CFP at the Rose Bowl and then again in 2024 next week on New Year's Eve in the former Outback Bowl in Tampa.  One game might have been slightly bigger than the other.

Justice was a sophomore this year and got 79 carries for 448 yards with 7 TD's.  He had a 5.7 yards per carry. As a freshman he got 25 carries for 168 yards and 2 TD's.  Against Michigan in the Rose Bowl, Justice had 4 carries for 31 yards with a long run of 11 yards.

Justice was rated as the #1 RB in the portal and Michigan beat out South Carolina for his services for hopefully 2 more years.

Justice is 5'11 and 210 pounds and hails from Buford, GA.

Welcome Justice!
  • Former Michigan OL Andrew Gentry is transferring to BYU
  • Former Michigan RB Tavierre Dunlap probably doesn't have to move from his apartment as he has transferred to EMU.
  • CAL QB Mendoza transfers to IU where his brother is at.
  • Old News but Mo Wagner tears his ACL, now both brothers are out with injuries.
  • No word yet from Kenny Grant on what his next move is.

Last game against Bama was on New Years Day 2024! I was there, and it was the greatest college football game I have ever seen.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I had to resell my tickets, however still the best college football game I've ever seen as well. I was worn out when it was over... There will never be another opportunity to see a game like that...

No college football playoff games this weekend? Boy, the teams that drew a bye are really going to be rusty.

Seems Lloyd Carr has another grandson that plays QB. This one is Tommy Carr, and he plays at Saline H.S. He is in the class of 2026 and has yet to receive a Michigan offer, despite putting up some impressive numbers last year. Could this non-offer be a 'tit for tat' for C.J. snubbing the Maize and Blue? It could also be that whenever Michigan offers someone, 20 schools usually follow suit. Either way, it should be interesting to see how this turns out.

I personally don't care if we lose by 100. Just want to see guys that haven't played much. I don't need to see Davis Warren. If Jadyn Davis isn't starting, then find a homeless guy in the stadium parking lot and give him the nod. If Davis Warren ends up playing any significant snaps next year then its going to be another long season. Want to see some young DBs, DTs, and edges. Throw in some of the younger OL and I'll be a happy camper.

Or maybe Michigan learned from CJ. Maybe the word got back to the program that don't bother, my grandson(s) will never play for Michigan. Lloyd had a bit of an acrimonious separation from Michigan from what I was told by an insider. He felt he got pushed out and didn't think the school did enough to appreciate the 1997 Naty. He pushed for RichRod and then undermined him every chance he got. My insiders opinion was he wanted the next Michigan coach to fail. He also undermined the Les Miles to Michigan thing. Not that it would of ended well either, but Lloyd feared Miles would come to AA and succeed! The picture that was painted for me was Lloyd was a bitter ol' man!

I bet a steak dinner you don't see Jadyn Davis. If we didn't see him during the regular season when games kind of had some meaning I doubt we're going to see him in a game that is nothing more than a glorified High School scrimmage. That is if the rumors about Mom and Dad are true. Injury alert here...

Then not sure if I care to watch. What other QBs do they have on the roster that can play? Orji is in the portal, Denegal is at SD St. What happens if Warren gets decapitated? Homeless guy? And if Davis isn't going to play, then why hasn't he just entered the portal? There's no reason not to play him from Michigan's perspective, so then it has to be Davis and his people that don't want him to play. And again, I just want to see if he can play. If he just sucks, then at least we'll know and not have to wonder about him. Just show him the portal and be done!

Chowman- That very well could be.

I think you are 100% correct. I think the advantage goes to teams that have played or at least evens them up. When your team is a well-oiled machine, you lose your edge with a lengthy idle time.

I think TV ratings would actually go through the roof if we had a homeless guy in the lineup. Jadyn Davis not playing would be puzzling and alarming.

What has happened quietly was the signing of anylist Juan Castillo. I remember Castillo when he was the OL coach under Andy Reid for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a very effective OL coach and developed an outstanding OL when he was there. I'm thinking that Coach Moore is going to use him to help develop Michigan's OL and maybe be a coach to our young current OL coach. IMHO!!!

I'm not a fan of babysitters at any level. If you need someone to babysit then move on and find someone better. I said it about Moore and I'll say it about any of the other coaches: Michigan is not an internship. You don't learn on the job at Michigan. You need to already know what you're doing. Newsome might very well be a great OL coach one day, but maybe he needs to cut his teeth at EMU or Ball St and not UofM.
