Breaking News: Urban Meyer Out as Head Coach of Florida

ESPN is reporting that Urban Meyer is stepping down as head coach of the Florida Gators . The report is that he wants to focus on his health (which he says he has ignored for the past 24 years of coaching) and to spend more time with his family. He was admitted to the hospital with chest pains after the SEC Championship game. So one potential theory is that he is having some heart issues.

He will coach the Sugar Bowl against Cincinnati. Urban will address the media on Sunday afternoon for the regular Sugar Bowl press conference. More to come on this story.............

On a side note, Florida lost their top assistant coach, Charlie Strong a few weeks ago to the head coaching job at Louisville.
