Michigan Friday: Michigan Lands 4th Commitment for 2011

Michigan landed it's 4th commitment for the class of 2011 with the verbal from Brennen Beyer from Plymouth, Michigan which is about 20-30 minutes from Ann Arbor. BB is a 4 star 6'4 222 pound strong side defensive end.

There are number of very good reasons why this verbal commitment is important to Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan Football Program.

  1. Need to protect home turf. Brennen is a Michigan fan and one of the top players in the state of Michigan.
  2. Beyer is the first commitment since the NCAA letter came out.
  3. BB had an impressive offer list from the likes of: ND, MSU, UCLA, Stanford, Louisville, and Northwestern.
  4. Position of need for Michigan at defensive end.

With the 2011 class being a small one (estimated under 20 kids), Michigan will be looking to fill positions at linebacker and offensive line. Look for RR and staff to be pretty picky on the rest of the class.
