So the news on Wednesday was that Tate was seen on crutches and that John Beilein went .500 in his targeted recruits.
First we will hit basketball: Jon Horford signed his LOI yesterday and faxed it into Ann Arbor. Here is what Coach Beilein had to say about Jon: “We are pleased to announce that Jon Has become a part of the Michigan Basketball Family and believe he is a great fit for our program moving forward,” said Beilein. “At 6-9, 215 he is explosive and highly skilled. I love his length, wing span and his ability to rebound the basketball and as his strength improves he will help us in several areas. He can block shots, he has a nice touch and he has a huge upside and tremendous hunger and desire to improve.”
Coach Beilein still has some work to do since they have two open scholarships with the loss of Trey Zeigler to Central and Manny heading to the NBA Draft. He could sign one or two more guys to this class or bank them for next year.
Now on to football, Michigan's starting QB Tate Forcier was seen walking in crutches with a cast/boot on his foot attending class on Wednesday. The injury is considered a minor ankle sprain and Tate was practicing on Wednesday.
- Here is the updated Spring Visitor list courtesy of TomVH at Mgoblog.
- No Trey DePreist for the Spring Game right now. Tough week for Michigan and the Trey's they were/are recruiting. Trey is the top LB in the nation out of Ohio and a Michigan fan growing up.
- Michigan is in D. Hart's Top 4 right now with Florida, Auburn and Alabama. He is visiting this weekend, which will be a do or die for Michigan in his recruitment. Michigan's ace in the hole is Ricardo Miller who played a few years of high football together in Florida. Clinton-Dix a current teammate of Hart is pushing him to attend Alabama with him.
