Michigan Monday: An Unbelievable Precedent Day Weekend

I am not sure I have words for what happened this weekend for the Maize and Blue.  I think Michigan just changed the name of a holiday weekend from President's Day to Precedent Day!

First lets get to the Michigan's basketballs big win over OSU on Saturday night.   The team played with a ton of energy and wasn't going to let this one slip and beat the #6 Buckeyes.   It was a team effort with Stu, Zack, Tre, and Tim all hitting big shots in the second half.   I think Jordan Morgan had the best game of his career in Ann Arbor.  I loved the effort on both sides of ball and they pulled out a big Win.  The rest of Michigan's games are winnable but they have a number of road tests still left.  If they could pull out a regular season Big Ten Championship it would be a great accomplishment.

Now on to Recruiting Weekend Blitz:

Michigan Football has always done a great job of recruiting.   A bad year is like the 15 ranked class in the country.   With that said,  I'm not sure the Michigan Football program has EVER had a weekend like this on the recruiting trail.   The only thing I can compare it to is Texas Football.   Texas every spring will invite the top 25 or so recruits to a Junior Day.   They let some of this kids know, "that their dreams have come true and they have a Texas offer".   During that weekend Texas fills up most of their class and has around 15or so commits.

Michigan Football had a Texas like weekend for the 2013 class.   I was truly un-believable.  Let's recap the action because it was non-stop and probably still has some more momentum left.

Weekend Commitments Line-up (in order of commitment):

#1 Kyle Bosch, OT, Wheaton Ill., 6'5 285 pounds - 4 star to Rivals, ESPN and 24/7.

#2 Wyatt Shallman, RB/DE,  Novi, MI, 6'3 250 pounds - 4 Star to all services

#3 Jourdan Lewis, CB, Cass Tech - Detroit, 5'11 170 pounds. - 4 star to Rivals and 24/7

#4 David Dawson, OT, Cass Tech - 6'4 300 pounds - 4 star to Rivals and 24/7

#5 Chris Fox, OG, Parker, Colorado - 6'6 285 pounds - 4 star to all services.

#6 Taco Charlton, DE/OLB, Pickerington, Ohio - 6'6 245 pounds - 4 star to Rivals, ESPN and 24/7.

#7 Jake Butt, TE, Pickerington, Ohio - 6'6 230 pounds - 4 star to Rivals, ESPN and 24/7.

#8 Logan Tuley-Tillman, OT, Peoria, IL - 6'7 300 pounds - 4 star to Rivals and 24/7.

BTW: Scouts has not done it's full top 250 list yet, so that is why you don't see too many Scout 4 stars up there yet.

This class went from 3 commits for the 2013 class to 11 recruits in just 48 hours.   LTT wanted to wait and take all his visits but the kid is smart and knew he wanted to be a Wolverine and couldn't wait.  Michigan wanted  5 offensive lineman in this class and with 3 committing on Saturday he knew he had to Go Blue Now!

Guess what? The rumor mill is saying there could be another commit in the next day or two.  So keep your eye on the blog and will let you know if another 2013 commitment drops.

This was my reaction all weekend:
