Michigan Monday: Sweep of MSU and Is It Time For Harbaugh?

Welcome back Nik!  It seemed the defense had found the kryptonite to his Superman as he had struggled over the past few weeks.  The MSU game felt sort of the same as Caris LeVert continued to keep the Wolverines alive with 23 points of his own as Nik only had a couple baskets in the first half with MSU holding on to the lead at the half.

Quick Nik then decided he needed to it step up and shot the lights out in Crisler for 21 points in the second half.   He had one stretch where he scored 11 straight points in a row.   That is the Nik we know and love and hope we continue to see the rest of the Big Ten season and a run in the tournament.

Other notes:  GR3 added 15 points and a nice exclamation point dunk.   Finally, Michigan played more 1-3-1.  I never understood why we only saw it a couple times a game.  It was nice to see it played more often against the Spartans on Sunday.    Jordan Morgan will finish his career 6-2 against MSU (unless they meet in the Big Ten Tournament or NCAA Tournament).

  • Reports surfaced that the Cleveland Browns were in discussions with the 49'ers to trade for coach Jim Harbaugh.   The 49'ers and Harbaugh have both denied the reports.   The Browns owner  did verify today there were discussions and an opportunity to make a trade that never materialized.    So now the question remains, if the relationship between Jim and the 49'ers continue to deteriorate, is it time for Brandon to make a visit to San Francisco and have a talk with Jimmy?   Offer him $6-$7 Million a year and a place in Michigan history.   I know there is zero chance that would happen right now, but we all know if Hoke puts another terrible season together, his seat will be as hot as Big Al's was.    If you have another shot at bringing Harbaugh to Michigan you better not mess it up a second time.   (If Harbaugh said, "Yes, I will come to Michigan but I'm coming right now, I personally would sign him up)  What is the better job?  Head coach of the Cleveland Browns or Michigan Wolverines.   I think it's the Wolverines by a long shot.

  • Michigan had another successful recruiting weekend and it seems a number of recruits were impressed.   We have yet to hear what Mr. Harris reaction was to the visit.   I think it was good sign there were photos of him and Coach Nuss at the game together with Damien wearing a Michigan Football T-Shirt.

hmmm ... or coach of the San Francisco 49ers, who over the last 2 year made it to the Superbowl and conference finals.

True, but it sounds like there is something going on behind close doors between Jim and the 49'ers brass. You don't talk to other teams about trading your head coach if you think he is Bill Belichick. My point is, if he has to be moved, why not Ann Arbor over another NFL job?

Well, there's always the number of shots he took at the academics of the football program....
I realize Brady hasn't had the success we'd hoped for, has had a record going backwards not forward and has badly fumbled PR issues... but lets not let Jim off the hook for running his mouth the way he did. I bet Bo wouldn't have hired him after those comments.
