Nobody!
This is a saying that Jack Harbaugh used to ask his sons before dropping them off at school each morning. Jim has continued to use it with his teams. He even used it Sunday for the final time with the 49'ers. When Jack and his wife landed in Detroit yesterday, the first thing he said was, "It's great to be back home" . They are expected to move back to A2 as well. Which will help Jim's quality of life and even have Jack around to help out the program.
Today is a day where Michigan finally got their man, a Michigan Man to come home and coach the Wolverines. It's probably the most important day in the history of the program since Lloyd grabbed the National Championship trophy in 1997.
This is a day that many NFL types said would never happen. They mis-reported on who got offered the job, said that Jim had turned down the Wolverines and would never go back to college, that the search was a complete mess, and so on. They were 100% wrong and never understood what was truly in Jim's heart. I have never seen so many "insiders" reporting things that were so wrong.
Does Jim have a magic wand and going to turn the battleship around in a season? No.
In football these days you need two really important things. You need a great coach and a great QB, Michigan hasn't had either for a very long time. They just secured a great coach and now need to find or develop a great QB. This team is stocked with 4&5 star talent. This could be a quick turnaround if Michigan gets good QB play next season. The future is bright and this program is in much better shape then Stanford was when he took that job.
When is the press conference today? Noon.
I expect it to be streamed on mgoblue, the local news channel, BTN, etc. BTN will probably show it live on TV as well.
What's next after the press conference today?
1) Get the staff in place
2) Recruiting, Recruiting, Recruiting. Michigan has a month to find about 10 players. With Jimmy's background and the proposed staff, they shouldn't have much trouble finding guys wanting to play for Michigan with a staff that can get them to the league.
This is the day we have all been waiting for, a day where we can put our Michigan gear back on and wear it with pride. A day where Michigan didn't settle on hiring their head coach, a day where they hit a grand slam in hiring one of the best coaches at any level. A day where our rivals aren't happy because of the level of coach that will be roaming the side lines in the Big House. A day in history where Michigan got their man and made the first step in getting this program back to "greatness". A day where all Michigan fans have every right to feel proud.
Who has it better then us?
Nobody!
PS: Thank you Jim Hackett, for a guy in role for a couple of months, you will go down in history as a guy that made one of the best hires in the programs history. Congratulations at a job well done! You deserve a huge bonus!
Welcome Home Jim! The millions of fans around the world support you!

Spot on Bob..... well said.
What a great day to be a Wolverine!
Ditto..well said Bob.
The insiders were all wrong and you were correct. Thanks for your efforts the last several months and keeping us sane.
Go Blue!
Your awesome Bob! I told you guys it was harbaugh all the way! All you NFL insiders where are you now? What are you saying?........ I hear nothing but crickets....,.
Like the rest of u....a big thanx goes out to Bob....U have answered all my questions and have been an honest Michigan fan...as for today it's a day I never saw coming...I guess it was my fault I trusted all of the "insiders" who tried yesterday to apologize for doubting Jimmy coming home..Like the rest of u I can't wait till noon...ITS GREAT TO BE....A MICHIGAN WOLVERINE
Funny story concerning the hiring of Coach Harbaugh. We went to the Verizon store last night and one of the guys that worked there saw my Michigan hat and told me that was the last thing he wanted to see as he is a 49ers fan. I couldn't help but smile and say "Go Blue!"
It's a great day to be a Michigan Wolverine!
Someone pinch me.
Great job Bob....gotta make room for another picture.
Go Blue
NOOOOOOOObody!
Thank the good Lord above and the wisdom of Bo for the greatest Christmas gift ever! Go Blue!
To me this provides great peace of mind... not worried about victories, titles... were in good hands.
When apartheid ended in South Africa, they had those tribunals... that is you confessed to what you did wrong, you would not be prosecuted. Now that things are fixed at Ann Arbor... we should have tribunals
(*) Loyd Carr can express sorror for not makin Harbaugh the quarter back coach
(*) Carr should also apologize for leaving the cupboard bare for Rich ROD. And why he did not quit earlier when he did not want to coach anymore.
(*) the sportswriters, Carr people responsible for turning in your own coach for practicing for too long (minutes a week), and would not give him proper forms for self-regulation.
(*) (Brandon must come forth and explain why he only considered "front-butts" for the coaching job.
(*)anyone that tortured Rich Rod why he was here, he was our coach you know!!
Forgot something.
Hackett earned himself the position of Michigan AD.
Let us not forget that the ultimate hero in all of this is the Michigan president, had the wisdom to hire Hackett who then solved the problem. Hats off to the Presdent, ad Hackett, and Harbaugh.. may they stick together for 20 years.
