Michigan Monday: Congratulations to Miggy

Miguel Cabrera hit his 500th home run yesterday in Toronto.  Detroit professional sports fans haven't had much to cheer about the last few years and its great to see this hallmark stat from a future Hall of Famer.  Congrats Miggy!

  • A couple of rivals have named their QB starter:   OSU is going with CJ Stroud, who was down to Michigan and OSU in his recruitment. ND is going with Jack Coan, who used to be Wisconsin's starter.
  • Tawfiq Thomas didn't end up committing on Saturday.  The word on the street is that the Wolverine coaches would like him to visit A2 first before he commits.
  • Are you ready? Big Ten football starts on Saturday.  Weird. Nebraska @ Illinois.  Which is interesting for many reasons including: is Nebraska back and what Illinois will look like with Brett Bielema as head coach.
  • Sneaky first week game 9/4:  Louisiana @ Texas.  I thought this only happened to Michigan - when you schedule a bad team years in advance and they turn out to be good when you play them.   Both teams are ranked in the top 25.
  • Basketball recruiting news:  2022 four-star forward Colin Smith will take an official to A2 on the weekend of 9/24.

Bob,

I think we know how Coach Bielema will try to develop his team. He like most coaches have developed their own coaching DNA style and will opt for that if they have a the talent to perform what they're trying to accomplish, (if they are given the time to recruit and develop). IMHO!!!
