Michigan Friday: A Couple of PWO's

This time of year is great for Michigan filling out depth and scout team roles through Preferred Walk-On offers (PWO).  Sometimes you strike gold and find a contributor or even a starter.    The Glasgow's come to mind as a recent gold mine.  Michigan landed two guys yesterday to its PWO program.

1. Charlie Lovell, DE from Pinckney

2. Josh Nichols, CB/S from Loyola High School in Detroit

Welcome guys!

Harbaugh Watch - Nothing new to report. The Raiders have asked to interview Patriots OC Josh McDaniel's.  Would love for these NFL jobs to be filled so we can close this damn thing down.   To Jimmy's credit, he keeps on working and now needs a new DC.  (As you will see below, these NFL hires are also affecting the Michigan DC search)

  • The USFL is back, and The Michigan Panthers have hired Jeff Fisher to the be their head coach.   I hope this league last more than a couple of weeks.
  • If Byron Leftwhich gets the JAX job, its expected he would bring Larry Foote with him as the Jags DC.  That could happen as early as this weekend.   Nobody wants to work with GM Trent Baalke, so they have to clean that up as well.   If Todd Bowles gets a head coaching job, Larry could be in line as Tampa's next DC as well.
  • A strange name that has popped up in Michigan's DC search is former Washington Head Coach Jimmy Lake who Michigan rolled over in the Big House this year.   The guy can coach defense, with his specialty in the secondary but he had some issues with "putting hands" on his players at UW and was seen the door.  Not sure Michigan would sign up for that career reclamation project.

Here are my criteria for the new Michigan DC:

1. Can run/teach multiple coverages
2. Is young and has a ton of energy
3. Can make in game adjustments
4. Will hit the recruiting trail hard

Harbaugh is coming back because the NFL doesn't want him. The NFL is a copycat league and the flavor of the day is young, innovated offensive minded coaches, ala Matt Lefleur, Sean McVay, and Kyle Shanahan. Yeah there are exceptions like Andy Reid or Bruce Arians, who are both still offensively innovative. Then you have some franchises that still think going with a defensive guy is the way to go, yeah Chicago wtf are you thinking! Jim is a 58 yo, old school power football guy. He's a bi-plane in a supersonic jet era! NFL is about scoring points, LOTS of them, and Jim isn't what they are looking for!

Your damn right. Professional head coaching win loss record of 44-19 is a disgrace. How dare him for thinking about going back...

Well here’s the thing, Maybe with Matt Rhule, or Brady Hoke or who ever they bring in next, we can spend out time talking about drinking milk with steak, and nervous chicken birds, and running around taking pictures with our shirts off instead of talking football and winning, this dick head wins one time at home!!! (Your suppose to) and all of a sudden he is great again? He just lost to MSU AGAIN!!!! And was a no show in the Finals Four…. He is what we think he is…. 9-3…. There is no defense for the overall record, no defense for the ass kickings he has taken…. As soon as 2015 Msu game happened and we all saw that dumbfounded look on his face we all should have known to let him go….. right then…. Funny thing is…. I saw that same look when he lost in the AFC Championship game as a QB for the Colts…. Wide eyed and lost…. VIKINGS please!!!

Better yet, let’s all chip in and get Szanreno a custom Don Shula scooter and we can have him roll up and down the sideline and get our beloved boys in blue to raise a few championship banners…. !!!! HAIL

How about P.J. Fleck???

Here’s my thought on him….. he is just NOT believable! No one is that god damn excited to be alive let alone a coach of a bunch of Gophers…. It’s kind of hard for me to explain but when you look at him run on the field, that even looks contrived…. Like… hey your not really that pumped are you? Just a blow hard (yes I am too) but good god that rah rah shit is either real or it’s not…. Bill Parcells “This is why you lift all those weights” , That’s rah rah motivation coach speak! That works! Not that bum … he is the coach of an appropriate team for him…. The gophers …that’s what he is

You're too stupid to even see I was screwing with you. Hahahaha...

Now wait a minute….. how do you know that I wasn’t just playing a long with your stupidity? Who is to say that you need a breakdown or rendition of anyones thoughts on pj fleck? I HONESTLY was using it as a platform to pursue my own evil thoughts of another man I despise…. Another thing…. What wrong with being stupid? Stupidity is keeping a coach that went 2-14 back to back years… that’s what the 49 ers Debartolo did (not sure how to spell it … I’m stupid) but hey… I think it worked out…. Team of the 80s after being terrible…. Stupid is what has led to many championships…. Many a stupid moments have led to great things…. I have been stupid and smart and will continue to be…. Anyone FAH Q….. and Go blue!!

Anyway!!! Not anyone… sorry I was being stupid again damn it… anyhow seriously….Never been a bigger Vikings fan…. As a life long Bears fan with a brother that is a die hard Niners fan I have had enough of Mr. Jim in my life
