If your program has made the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 5 times in a row, I believe you should be able to rename it anything you like. So, I went with the most famous Wolverine #16 I could think of, who also happens to be a new employee of said University.
I won't recap the game as I'm sure most of you already have seen it or plenty of highlights, what I will do is give you my thoughts on what I saw.
- When Michigan tied the game at 60, I saw some of the Tennesse fans faces turn a strange color of orange to match their shirts.
- Areas of clean up before Villanova:
- Better passes - to many turn overs on poor passes
- Houstan we have a problem! We need 10-15 points from you!
- Michigan played very few guys in the second half. Hopefully, Jones will be back on Thursday.
- Villanova shoots over 80% as a team from the line (#1 in college basketball), Michigan will have to play very clean defense.
- Michigan shot 80% from the line against TN
- Diabate missed probably 10 points in dunks and layups
- Frankie is a future star at Michigan
I think the OSU - Villanova tape will give Michigan a few thoughts on ways to win the game. OSU and Michigan are pretty similar teams. Villanova plays fundamental basketball and Michigan will again have to play one of its better games of the year. Bottom line, this team will go as far as Eli and Hunter take them. Game time on Thursday 7:30 TBS.
- I feel terrible for David Ojabo blowing out his Achilles at Michigan's pro day. Any positive out of this injury, is that surgery and recovery has come a long way and is now a 6-month injury. Which could put him back on the field as early as September/October. I hope this doesn't kill his draft stock.
- Purdue and Michigan are the only 2 Big Ten teams to advance to the Sweet Denard.
- Was Saturday the Best Day in Michigan Athletics ever?
- Men's BBall advances to the Sweet Denard
- Women's BBall wins its first-round game of the NCAA Tournament
- Hockey wins a Big Ten Championship and gets the #1 Seed in the NCAA Tournament.
- Wrestling finishes second in the NCAA National Championship
- Mens Gymnastics wins a share of the Big Ten
- Womens Gymnastics wins the Big Ten Title

What a weekend! This team has had it's ups and downs, but with the pressure on, they have risen to the occasion. Love the effort and Juwan is making all the right moves. And Izzo has choked again and will be sitting on his couch watching Michigan. GO BLUE!!
