The Michigan Football program has always had a soft spot for a hard nosed full back. A guy that loves contact and the art of blocking. Most of the credit will go to the running backs but we know who is in there doing the dirty work.
At Michigan we had high hopes the next guy in that role would be Ben VanSumeren (who was bouncing back and forth between LB and FB) but atlas he decided last May that Ann Arbor was not the spot for him and he took his talent to East Lansing. He also took his highly rated younger brother Alex with him, who was a 4 star defensive line recruit in the 2022 class.
Ben played 256 snaps and recorded 12 tackles on defense and special teams as a reserve for the Spartans last season. But MSU was not happy with the depth at his position and went to the transfer portal to find Aaron Brule from Mississippi State and Jacoby Windmon from UNLV, who both are expected to play in front of Ben next season.
So Ben is on the move again and back in the transfer portal looking for a new program. Luckily, Michigan has a ton of instate colleges with football programs to try next. Too early to tell if this effects Alex or not, but the 4 star is already enrolled at State.

Brady's comment about the portal potentially blowing up on sparty is not arrogant nor unintelligent. Tucker has conceded recruiting the state to playing the portal instead. It may get him a few more wins but at what expense? He's the Salvation Army of college football and who goes to the Salvation Army when they want top level furniture or goods?

Ya, I'm real jealous of a coach that came in 3rd place while we won a B1G Championship. Sounds like you are one of those fake fans that just sit on your hands at games and 'expect victory'. Those days are over my friend. Maybe you and your Grandma can sip some tea on your yacht during rivalry games and let your arrogance stop you from showing some real enthusiasm for the program. You're probably outraged that UM was one of the first schools to allow African Americans to play football, or that we had black QBs, and now a female grad student on the football staff. Plain and simple, you're no 'Michigan Man'.
I am a realist my friend. If my team is garbage I will be the first one to admit that. Some of you guys think we won the National Championship for the past 15 years. We are a mediocre of a team, and some of you guys run your mouth like we are a power house program likes of OSU, Alabama, and others. Your making fun of MSU because Mel Tucker gets his players from the portal? He is doing what is best for the program. He is trying to win. Respect and humbleness will take you long way in life my friend.
