I have yet to watch IU play football this year, there have either been conflicts with Michigan or I just couldn't spend the time watching Hoosier Football.   I watched Indy play Denver last night in maybe one of the worst NFL games ever.  Our own Kwity Paye was carted off with a serious leg injury.  I don't expect he will be on the sideline in Bloomington.

Dear Jimmy,

I first want to thank you and the team for the effort last weekend.  Iowa is not an easy place to win, even if you have the better team.  Your team was conservative but pulled the right strings to get a W in Iowa City.  Well done!

Now you take your team on back-to-back road trips and have the Indiana Hoosiers up next.   This IU team is not the one we saw a few years ago that upset the Wolverines in Bloomington.  The QB and a number of assistant coaches are gone.  You can look on your own sideline and find one of those missing coaches, Mike Hart.  I think Sparty found the former IU QB a few weeks ago.

Every game is important and Michigan has not played well in Bloomington in the past.   Their coach has a few screws loose and will try to throw everything at your team to try to get an upset and another contract extension.  IU has its own transfer QB from Mizzu and they throw the ball more than any other team in the country.    Their offensive line isn't very good and Connor Bazelak turns the ball over when he is pressured.  We know the Wolverines has struggled with pass rush this year but let's hope Saturday isn't one of those days.  IU watches tape and will put Michigan's LB's in coverage a lot.  They also play with tempo, so changing out our Dline could be an issue.

On offense, stay balanced and let the running game do its thing, but give JJ some throwing play calls.  I would love to see an improved deep ball and 300 yards passing for the young star.   I love Michigan's WR's and if Roman can't go due to his possible concussion from last week, let's see what some of the young players can do.  Update: Roman is believed to be in the protocol and not expected to make the trip this weekend.

It's important to not get caught in a trap game while looking ahead to Penn State next week.  Stay focused, remind the team of the Bloomington loss and take care of business.   Rush the passer and cover in the secondary and Michigan will walk away with another W.

Michigan 38 IU 13

A fairly benign comment: but we wait all year for football season and after this game it is half-over for regular season .... times flies when you're having fun ... not so much for MSU!

I'm hoping our WR corp will get some valuable p.t. this weekend. Look for Anthony, Baldwin, Johnson, and Ronnie to put on a show!
