This is one of my favorite nights in sports. I love the unknown and intrigue as NFL teams evaluate players and specifically our Michigan Wolverines. There have been times when the NFL was right, Rashan Gary is a good example and didn't have the most productive career at Michigan but has turned into one of the best defenders in the NFL. There have been other times where the NFL were wrong and drafted Taco Charlton way too high. We of course don't need to review where the Greatest QB in the history of the NFL was drafted.
Michigan has two potential first rounders tonight:
- DJ Turner did not expect to be a fringe 1st rounder when he left Michigan early. He then put up the fastest time at the combine and now people are talking about him as a late 1st rounder/Early 2nd.
- Mazi Smith has been on the radar for many NFL teams after being #1 on Bruce Feldman's Freak list last year. Mazi also has a good shot at being selected late in the 1st round tonight.
Other rounds:
- Luke Schoonmanker 3rd - 4th rounds
- Mike Morris 4-5th rounds
- Jake Moody 6-7th rounds
- Olu Oluwatimi 3-5th rounds
- Ronnie Bell 6-7th rounds
- Germon Green 7th or Free Agent
- Brad Robbins 7th or Free Agent
Good Luck to all the former Wolverines tonight and this weekend!
- CB Damani Dent a true freshman CB who didn't see the field at all last season, is in the portal. There were reports of an injury and rumored off field issue that had him squarely in the "dog house".
- Taylor Upshaw who transferred from Michigan to Colorado, is now back in the portal.

There was a time when Mike Morris was considered to be a first round pick. I think he could have used another year
