Wolverine Wednesday: Trying to Build a #1 Class

Out recruiting the likes of Alabama, Texas A&M, OSU and others is very difficult these days.  NIL took what happened in the dark to the light and still the NCAA doesn't know what to do with it.   Michigan last season had a great year on the field but a down year recruiting.  We know some of the reasons, Harbaugh's flirtation with the NFL, losing both coordinators, and a complicated NIL program.   Michigan should never have a 15-20 ranked class; it always should be in the top 10.

So far 2024 has been a different story and Michigan has landed a verbal commit from a 5-star QB and a number of 4-star prospects.  Michigan currently has the 3rd ranked 2024 class behind Georgia and LSU.  Here is some latest and greatest recruiting news:

-Andrew Sprague a 6'8 290 pounded OT from KC is announcing on Friday.  Andrew is a 4-star player top 150 recruit and has 100% of the crystal ball predictions on 24/7 to Michigan.

-2024 4-star OT Bennet Warren has confirmed he will be taking an official visit to Ann Arbor in June.  This will be his 2nd visit to A2.

-Michigan received a CB prediction for Belleville 2024 4-star LB Jeremiah Beasley who previously had a 100% CB's to MSU.

-David Sanders Jr. a 2025 OT retweeted Jadyn Davi's commitment to Michigan.  Did I mention David is the #1 ranked player in the 2025 class?

-Michigan is in the top 5 for Bloomfield DL Brandon Davis-Swain a former ND commit.  His other top schools are Auburn, Colorado, Purdue, and USC.

  • Since we are on the topic of recruiting, Michigan Basketball seems to be in the top 2 for UNC transfer guard and former 5-star, Caleb Love.  The issue is, the other school is Mizzu which is home for Caleb.
  • Michigan Basketball doesn't make the top 5 for big man transfer BJ Mack.
